Did you exercise today?

If you are hitting the erg hard a proper cool down will go a long way to reducing post workout aches and pains something as simple as 10 to 15 minutes on a spin bike at a comfortable cadence with the resistance turned down will do wonders.
Haven't really had any post workout aches from the erg. I also have it to avoid the pain of a spin bike lol.

Been watching the WorldWCR races when I'm doing more chill "zone2" longer rows.

Better half would always tease me about my unwillingness to stretch or yoga. Meh!

Ride, wings, beer and bench I’d say! (And not necessarily in that order)

Now, I truly enjoy it and work on my balance as well.

Teens can ride the buses, swim for free again this summer in Mississauga

and workout.

Anyone experience inner elbow / tendon pain after curls? Not sure if it’s form or something else but when I go very heady (40-45lbs) I can’t feel the inside of my elbow and have lots of pain.

Welcome to middle age of your life. I found the main reason is overuse - and it takes a loooooong time to heal these days for me, so be patient recovering - give it time for pain to go away for real. Nowadays I train very carefully and try to sense any remote symptoms before it becomes chronic… Better less than nothing due to injury is my new moto these days… 14-16 reps and nothing too heavy.. Cheers.

Oh man no comment.

We’re dog sitting this weekend and have a barely walking dog here with bad hind legs.

I tried to lift the dog up the stairs, with my back and not legs, and all I heard is a snap and a crack and almost collapsed on the floor.

Something shot up my spine and now I’m basically unable to walk except hobble. Can’t lay down, lift my leg, or do anything.

I’m not even able to lift my leg from laying down position.

If I was a horse I’d have a bullet to the head right now. Think I need chiro this week as this pain is ludicrous.

That’s the story of my life - no sudden moves and thorough warm up and planning before any lifting activities :)

Although of the bright side, my friends who completely quit exercising and pushing their bodies daily now gain so much weight and barely can do anything always tired - so keep moving and pushing that body.. safely :)

Have you been hitting it hard with that new preacher pad?
Try lowering the intensity some and concentrating on a good contraction the pad changes your form that is the likely cause.
For those back pains try a percussion massager they can give some good results.

No. Started at very low weights with a 3x20 set instead of very heavy 8x12. The tendon pain in the inner elbow started before the preacher pad even came on board.

I have a massage pad laying around here but currently I can’t even kneel to properly to check under beds and wife is busy with the kids.

Found working on my cardio helps with strength training and recovery. Also, lots of post work out stretching/yoga.

And definitely avoid taking on too much weight to power through. Start light and when my reps are easy for 12/14 reps, I move up another 10 lbs. avoid jumping up 20 or more lbs because it’s too easy.

If I can’t do 8 reps, I knock off some weight and start again.

New Modo yoga studio opening up in Sheridan Mall (Erin Mills) in July. Can’t wait to have a good studio just a few minutes from home.

Officially started training for a 5k run in a month, after not running much for the last year. Was still able to run 5k in 30 minutes and was only expecting to last about 2k before gassing out.

Can’t wait to get back in shape for riding season!

No more excuses for lack of stretching. Went to an emergency chiro appt today and feel better.

Sore and tender in the lower back…but much better.

Won’t be lifting anything for a few weeks though :(

Rode the bicyclette with my buddies on the weekend, i am SO out of shape. It's not even funny.

Bike commute this morning and it went alright, pretty much no winds (at last!). And the weather is STARTING to feel nice. Still dealing with allergies though

I dusted off my bicycle for the first time in about ten years and put in a half to three quarters of an hour a day. I'm wobbly as a drunk.
Keep doing it. Things get better. You lasted longer than me when I first dusted the old bike off a few years ago.
