    Bike Camping Gear

I highly recommend this pad. Packs up smaller than my water bottle. Inflates in about 15 breaths. Built in pillow that is surprisingly comfortable. You'll feel the ground if you're sitting on it but when lying down, you're completely off the ground. Self-Inflating Camping Pad Comfortable Camp...

    Southwood Road. Condition???????????

Was up there last weekend. There are two patches of gravel where they installed a drainage pipe across the road. Other than that, conditions are as good as it gets.

Nipissing Road Between 518 and 520

Planning a trip next weekend and wanted to hit Nipissing Road on the way however, I have one buddy on a SS bike therefore we want to avoid gravel. Does anyone know what the road surface is like on Nipissing road between 518 (Seguin Falls) to 520 (Magnetawan)

A Ride up North - James Bay

Awesome! I intend to do this one day. Care to share the details? How long did it take? Road conditions? Did you camp? Are mosquitoes bad at this time of year?

That's great to hear! I hope to get up there soon.

    Southwood RD 13?

I don't think this is the typical "sand on the road". I was up there late last year and it actually looks like they purposely placed gravel on the road, possibly to slow down the drivers. I would avoid that road.

Hwy. 35 so much fun 6/30

Hwy 35 is an awesome ride. While you're there, get on Deep Bay Road which starts at Moore Falls, then Bobcaygeon Road followed by Kushog Lake Road for something a bit more twisty/hilly. I usually hit those roads going north then loop back down Hwy 35 south towards home. I'm usually on these...

What did you do in your garage today..?

I did a very similar route for the Iron Butt. That stretch in Verendrye Wildlife Reserve is absolutely beautiful. Lots of roadside picnic/rest spots but no cell signal from the moment you enter the reserve until you get out.

    Backroad adventure

Got up to Swift Rapids Road yesterday. Had a great time. Great road, twisty and hilly. Couldnt make it to the lock as it was gated off. I was concerned that there would be a lot of traffic there but I didn't see a single person.

Sounds interesting. Where abouts is this road? I searched Pit Road, Arden Road and Tamworth Road with no results.

Butt hurts when sitting on bike after certain period

I bought an Airhawk for my IBA ride. Works great for me. No butt pain even after 20hrs. I typically start feeling the butt pain after about 2hrs on the saddle. Just make sure you follow the inflation instructions.
