20,000 steps each day on the mail route.
That's a really nice pace. Crash diets are disasters in the long term.Hubby has lost 6 lbs since July 1 and I've lost 4...we are biking, walking and swimming
That's an awesome idea! I'd love to, but knowing reality there's a very small chance I can join. But please keep me posted if anything develops. This could also go in the cycling thread, but in the context of exercise. Anyone interested in some casual group bicycle rides on the recreational trails in Etobicoke and/or East Mississauga? I have been too busy lately to get a lot of cycling time in and I need to get back into it.
Not looking for a TdF wannabe ride. MTBs, hybrids, whatever. Maybe start with 15 to 20 km rides. Casual pace (sub 20kph), stops along the way. No one left behind... just some motivation to get out of the house.
Humber, Lakeshore, Etobicoke Creek to the Airport, or etc.
??
I'm just starting to explore the area. My starter loop covers Bloordale Park to Centennial and across into Mississauga. Very little road, mostly bikers, hikers and dog walkers. And for a treat today, a parrot walker. This could also go in the cycling thread, but in the context of exercise. On Tuesday I realized we didn't have enough cheese for Taco Tuesday, so decided to row a half marathon instead.
Ya, my brain works in mysterious waysMakes sense.
My Norton Anti-Virus expired on my laptop last Tuesday, so I decided to ride from BC to ON instead.
If you haven't given it a shot try using the grip with your thumbs on top of the handle, not engaging your thumbs while rowing can have its benefits. On Tuesday I realized we didn't have enough cheese for Taco Tuesday, so decided to row a half marathon instead.
First time ever rowing this long, the main pain was my hands blistering. Next long row I'll try wearing some dirtbike gloves.
Half the row was that way. Most of the blistering is at/below the first knuckle, so lifting/rowing gloves won't help either. If you haven't given it a shot try using the grip with your thumbs on top of the handle, not engaging your thumbs while rowing can have its benefits.
It’s the internet…someone will pay to see callused hands…(not me in case anyone thinks I’m implying that).I guess my hand modeling future is out the window now with all these calluses lol

Its been a minute but i have been trying out Indian clubs for shoulder and arm rehab and i give them a solid recommendation. After yet ANOTHER injury from overextending my lifts...inner elbow on left hand from curling too much...started up again and feeling great.
Got sick of looking at myself in the mirror so made some minor changes 2 weeks ago.
Started intermittent fasting (no eating b/w 8pm -> 10am) and practically cut out all breads (which is very difficult considering my MIL makes delicious bread).
Lots about 6.4lbs within 2 weeks (176.2lb -> 169.8lbs). Back to 170.2lbs yesterday as I faltered with my IF.
Also trying to control portions and I feel better.
Now looking for smoother exercises for the biceps as I can barely lift anything with my left arm. Especially when kids going in/out of car...very difficult to lift them. Didn't help my youngest took my left arm and twisted it back in a fit of joy when we were playing.
Thanks for the tip! I had a fairly serious injury last week (at work!) lifting a stupid box of paper and twisting! Its been a minute but i have been trying out Indian clubs for shoulder and arm rehab and i give them a solid recommendation.
You can pick up a set of 2 LB Indian clubs from amazon for less that it costs for a half decent take out pizza.
Go on YT look up Indian club workout there is plenty of choices so you should have no problem finding one in your flavour.
Don't be fooled by the apparent light weight of 2 LBS. 2LBS is the sweet spot for rehab.
