I was simply pointing out I digest a lot of US policing content (long before ICE, etc) and I find the reports of 'demanding' ID are quite often sensationalised.
Plenty of them turn out to be a cop repeatedly asking for ID and having a heated argument. At no time was the citizen verbally or physically detained, if they didn't know to walk away then that's on them.
