Also a lifetime side sleeper. I have a Hennesy Explorer Zip. Sleeping on my side works fine and is very comfy. It's also nice to always have a level sleeping platform, since most campsites are far from flat or level. However, turning over in the night is a PITA and requires waking up to...
Ha! Got it! I had a thought and ran out to the shop to try it. I just used the car floor jack to lift the KLR front tire off the ground enough to secure the dolly in place, then used the attach-tilt the bike-rotate technique for the rear wheel dolly. A bit of a heave to get the kick stand...
I bought 2 snowmobile dolly sets at Princess Auto last night.
The Honda CRF300L went onto the dollies no problem. The knobby tires help with keeping the dollies in position during setup. I just zip tied the dollies to the tires, then tilted the bike up onto the side stand and the weight of...
Hey all,
I'm looking at getting a couple of motorcycle dollies to make it easier to move the bikes around in the shop over the winter. The ones designed for bikes (long central rail with side-stand support rail sticking out the side) are pretty pricey at over $150.
On the other hand, a...
If you want to go off road, buy a bike designed for use off road rather than a heavy ADV bike. The KLX300/CRF300L is what you want. The 300cc versions of both bikes are much improved over the 250cc versions that some members here like to dump on.
I've got a CRF300L and a 1st gen KLR650. If...
Kinda sounds like a needle valve or valve seat issue. Could be some crud preventing the cone of the needle from sealing against the seat, or possibly the o-ring on the seat leaking.
Mikuni has a youtube video about leaking needles:

Get 2 Seadoo Sparks. Then you can both have fun. Stupidly fun to blast around and only uses about 10L/hour when riding in full hooligan mode. Also surprisingly good for touring. I regularly do long days on the Trent system. I'll put in on Lake Skugog and ride out through the locks to...
Anyone have an update on the status of the forest and trails? I've been hearing some people saying most of the trails are open, while others are saying it's mostly closed.... No reply from the CA to my request for a status report.
Could probably just open up the casing and replace the cells in your current trimmer. Might be able to find a pre-assembled swap kit with the soldering already done for <$50. Lots of videos on the tube about replacing power tool batteries if you need inspiration.
I lubed my first few chains regularly then decided to stop and see what happened. The first chain I didn't lube lasted essentially just as long as the ones that I did, and it didn't get rusty either. Maybe if you're trying to get 35,000km out of a chain.... I just treat the chain and...
Why bother? Is getting a few hundred extra kilometers out of a $150 chain really worth the hassle, mess and expense of cleaning and lubing? I regularly get 20,000km out of a good quality X-ring chain riding dirt and gravel on my KLR and all I do is wipe it with an oily rag before storing it...
Bought a truck recently without a safety. Registered it as unfit and asked for a temp sticker. No sticker, but the 10 day period is marked on the 'unfit' registration. When the buyer re-registers the bike with the safety the new registration paper will have the proper expiration date.
I have the Zoleo. Bought it for a trip up north a couple of years back.
The messaging was flawless and the breadcrumb map service was a nice touch for the people back home to keep track of where I was. I loan it out a few times per year to family/friends for their remote trips or hunt...
I got a giggle out of that, thanks. I've always assumed that the bikes would refuse to start if the rider wasn't wearing at least 1 piece of branded merch...
