I would add all the advice I have seen for XL dogs (90lbs+) to wait at least 18mon & up to 2yrs to neuter or spay to allow for full hip/elbow development.
Has anyone asked the dog? We have a tendency to transfer human emotions to animals. If female, some folks say to let them have the first litter of pups before you fix them
I know of some humans that would try that if not a fear of getting the crapped slapped out of them.Has anyone asked the dog? We have a tendency to transfer human emotions to animals.
When dogs meet on the street do they ask each other about their offspring or just sniff each other crotches.
Pulled one out of my wifes leg today. Tenacious little bastard. It did not want to let go. etick.ca seems good. You upload pics of tick and they log the exposure and identify the tick for you and list things it may transmit to you. It took a few hours but she had a blacklegged tick. It used to be called a deer tick but has been renamed.Found our first tick on Lucy. Just happened to be playing with her and felt a solid bump.
Was able to remove it with some tweezers and the head came out also so that’s good. She shockingly stood very still when rubbing alcohol was placed on the wound, but we can see open meat in the area.
Recommendations for tick removal tool? We just used my wife’s tiny tweezers to grab at the skin and pull up slowly. Some hair came out, but the tick was intact.
Actual pet medications like Simparica Trio? I know they will dispense human meds used off/grey label for animals, that where I get Franks meds (Florinef) for his Addison's disease since its so much cheaper than the Vet.Costco do pet meds with a prescription now.

Thanks, I'll look into this. Big dog takes 2 a month due to his size.Yes. The branded pet meds. They just started doing this a week or so ago. Our local one handed out some flyers about it. I think it’s limited to the flea/tick/heartworm stuff but they have a selection.

Ordered some from Oz (pets-megastore). Six months for $135 all-in, no prescription required. We'll see if they look legit. It looks like ~110USD for six months at costco in the US. I didn't bother calling Costco Canada to get a price, I couldn't find one online.Pulled one out of my wifes leg today. Tenacious little bastard. It did not want to let go. etick.ca seems good. Haven't found any on the dog yet. It is almost impossible to see his skin through his fur. None in his pads. He is on Trio which is $50/mo from the vet. Investigating online pet pharmacies. They seem to be ~$120 for 6 mo. Some require prescriptions (vet wants $50 for prescription), some don't. Hard to tell what is legit and what is sketchy.
Where do you work that you're getting all these ticks?Found a dog tick crawling around on my leg at work today so far I have yet to be bitten by a tick but have felt and removed a bunch crawling on me. Found a deer tick last week.

I assume they are coming from home hitching a ride when I go for a walk or a dirt bike ride. They are worse every year.Where do you work that you're getting all these ticks?
