You'll likely start to see the parallels between in and "Deep Space 9" almost immediately. JMS pitched B5 to a bunch of studios, including Paramount, in the late '80s. DS9 started production a couple of years before B5, but Paramount had JMS's B5 "bible" for several years before DS9 was in development.

EDIT - You might want to see the original pilot movie "Babylon 5 - The Gathering" before the series, as it sets up the premise. Not necessary, but helpful so you can hit the ground running.

"Blake's 7" is pretty good, but has Doctor Who level effects.

That's a pity. To me, DS9 is some of the best Trek since TOS.
 
Never was a Trekkie either tho liked some of the movies and the latest generation.
 
So far the GofT okay following episodes. 🍿 Wish Martin would finish the damn book series. grrrr

The ending was okay ...not sure what the fuss was about. Would have liked an Arya spin off.

The series was shot in 2k - looks much better than GofT on DVD. Detail is good with the upscaling - nothing to complain about from 3m away. 🍿 That it is based on reasonable historical figures puts it a step up from GofT
Getting a bit of venetian blind for the first time. 🤷‍♂️
