TV shows currently watching

I didn't realize that "One Piece" had a series of 5 "making of" shorts and they were definitely worth watching. Especially the last one in which Iñaki Godoy (who plays Monkey D Luffy) interviews the creator of the original creator in Japanese, which he had only started learning earlier the year of season 2's production. Impressive!

Scored the entire 8 seasons of Game of Thrones on DVD for $50
It's a bit soft but the Blu Ray set is way more expensive and from 4m - DVD is fine.
Happy to find all 8 seasons too ...many are 1-7 - this is 70 hours of watching.

Forgotten how good this is and how much happens even in Season One, (y)
There are many box sets out there with the full 1-8 set for $50 or so ....well worth the investment for many hours of breakthrough story telling. 🍿

I've certainly forgotten enough to make much of the series fresh. The red comet I'd forgotten all together. On to Season 2 ...Season 1 was superb.

We watched this on cable when it came out over 10 years ago. Watching it again, forgotten 90% of it, even more relevant today. Still a great show. On Netflix
Person of Interest

I was going to post about this. 5 seasons, over 100 episodes to binge. Decent stories and a decent cast. I started it a few weeks ago (not sure how I missed it originally) on episode 15 of season 1. Lots of fun.

Also started a Jo Nesbo series on Netflix. Scandinavian Noire. Very gory/violent. It’s called Detective Hole and has Joel Kinnaman in it (Swedish American actor). It’s subtitled in English. It’s started out very well.

I should really get into watching this. Still haven't seen a single episode.

Have the book series here...not sure if read/watch first.

What the heck is wrong with you!

The show do the books justice.

GofT ...watch first then read ....IMNSHO
Getting near the end of the series now ...S7 coming in...enjoying it all especially some of the secondary players like Davos and Pod ...Arya of course is a joy, feisty Lady Mormont and the Onion Knight. (y)
....

Survivor 50 is a once a week treat and this week was very emotional....I watched early on - S1 and most if not all of subsequent seasons tho not as they came out.
One player tonight was popular on several seasons and voted out tonight...in part engineered by a player who was 3 when he was first a contestant
All the contestants are returning players and some immensely popular and even multiple finalists as well as on multiple seasons ....powerful personalities and lots of emotional stories. ...25 years....50 Seasons.🍿
Always discover something new....
Yes, Ed Sheeran made a cameo appearance in Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 1 (
I only just discovered him anyways.

Since you're in Australia, did you get a chance to watch "Survivor Australia vs The World"? ( Australian Survivor: Australia V The World - Wikipedia )

It had some of the popular contestants from the US version, the AUS version, and even one from Survivor Quebec. I found it to be a good watch if you're a Survivor fan!

Did see "Survivor Australia vs The World" - think Russell got tossed right quick if I recall ...the early main Survivor that was set in Australia long before I moved here shocked my at the onerous conditions they survived..Survivor: The Australian Outback..they changed the show to reduce the stress on contestants after that show. Recall thinking how brutal it was.

Did not know there was a Survivor Quebec. Four Seasons too! Thanks

Finished the Jo Nesbo series Detective Hole on Netflix. Very Nordic Noire indeed. I really enjoyed it as there were some scenes in there that were genuinely shocking and different. If you watch it all then you’ll understand immediately. I hope there’s a season 2 as this is a great start with excellent characters.

One thing that’s neat is that if you enjoy this kind of Scandinavian TV then you see the same actors crop up again and again as the pool is a bit smaller. There are actors in this series that have been in Lillehammer (a comedy) and also Border Town (about a Russian invasion of a Scandinavian border town) and a few others.

Almost finished with GofT .....I left it before the denouement where it might have been best to finish....but....
of course there are TWO more novels to finish and RR is scarce. :sneaky:

Not sure what to binge next .... have a few in the 4k Blu Ray bin not even opened...and many dozens from partners extensive DVD sets now I know they are very watchable if a bit tedious swapping discs out. Not horrid ....just mildly annoying and of course the cinematic quality lacks despite best effort of the 4k player and TV to upscale.
Too many flaws in 4k Ultra Blu Ray discs to continue in that hunt tho standard Blue Ray are an excellent and low cost reliable source,

With 400 mBps down now there is lots to watch in 4k streaming. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah thanks @MacDoc I just started a re-watch of GoT.... I wasn't planning to.
Still a great series, amazing how many little plots they seamlessly intertwined, and every character has purpose.

I went back to rewatching "Babylon 5" and the scenery chewing soap opera grade acting is just as I remember it. Harlon Ellison helped to keep the story on track and the writing was always excellent, which is its saving grace. I'm really enjoying watching the character arcs again. Prime picked it up.
