I have family there including a nurse. In the early days they were the poster people for Covid management, traceable to the nth degree. Covid is a world wide disease and unless everyone on the planet is on the same page, covid wins.

So..it helps against a virus that we don’t have anything else for that has potentially life altering long term effects that are a gamble if you get infected. Restoring antibody levels after waning immunity is fine by me. Even marginal benefits are better than no benefits whatsoever.
 
Just got notice our WFH hybrid model trial is going to be evaluated at the end of the year.

I anticipate a full return to work.

People kicked out for not getting the vaccine are now being invited to return to work. I’m sure that’ll be a fun law discussion.

‘Well you kicked me out, didn’t pay me, and now you want me to return? Cool….here’s my lawyer and I want my back pay.’

big kick in the face to those that refused the vaccine for whatever reason, and now people that held on get a pass.

Normal public health measures during an unprecedented global pandemic are quite likely to be a done and dusted deal. Vaccines have brought things under some control, those that got vaccinated helped in that endeavour. Those that didn’t prolonged the problem.
 
what was that about vaccinating kids ? It's the biggest pool left without vaccination cept the knuckl draggers.

It's a limited study and you are reading way more into it's implications for the wider population than warranted. If you would care to parse the entire paper for our edification we're all ears 🍿

Edit: Showed up before six for a nine a.m. flight. They wouldn't let you go through security, until your time was called. Waited for an hour and a half for that to happen. Not sure if they're through customs yet, and the flight is scheduled to leave in 3 minutes.

Is this a tit for tat for ArriveCan?

COVID-19 border measures have ended as of October 1, 2022 for all travellers entering or returning to Canada by air, land or sea.

Pre-entry tests are not required for fully vaccinated travellers entering Canada by land, air or water. You must still use ArriveCAN within 72 hours before your arrival to Canada.

Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children under the age of 12 are not required to provide a valid pre-entry test result, if they are accompanying a fully vaccinated adult."

When my wife & I arrived from Iceland last week they didn't even ask to see the app. They could see it all with a scan of our passports. Your results may vary.

When we drove back they asked to see mine saying the picture on their computer was fuzzy.

From what I've heard they're doing random testing, which I imagine will be on the fly, and probably not given to drivers, but you never know. Crazier things have been done.

For my kids' flight to Vegas during the early morning rush, getting there more than an hour and a half early was useless. We arrived an hour and a half too early, because, they'd originally told us to be there three hours before the flight to allow enough time.They pulled everyone out of line and sent them to a waiting area to be called by flight time. Kids were called along with the rest of their flight, an hour and a half before the flight time. At their scheduled takeoff time, kids were still bogged down in the customs line. Actual Air Canada take off time was an hour and a half late.

Nexus might be worth it.

Which airline?

I booked a vacay but it’s a month and a half away. Hoping some of the issues will be sorted by then. I wanted to fly from Montreal but when I went to book the flight it stated “via Toronto” on both the outward and return legs so I just went with TO as I didn’t want to wait for hours on the tarmac at Pearson after boarding in Montreal. The only thing I definitely wanted was no connections so at least I have a direct flight from TO
 
I haven't read the studies, nor looked into it more deeply, however, this isn't the first time I've been hearing this...getting the vaccines as they are currently manufactured over and over again, is not as effective as getting an infection...

I flew Iceland Air (direct - T3), showed up 4.5hrs early (for a 21:00 flight) hearing horror stories . It took longer to get a parking spot in the garage than it did to go through security, no line at all walked up to a aisle and were through in 5min. We had checked in via the Iceland Air App and only had carry on, all the lines were checked bags. The return was more problematic, couldn't check in early because the app was asking for a "Passenger Locator form" to upload in addition to vaxx proof. Didn't realize that they meant a copy of our ArriveCAN receipt with the QR code. Once we figured that out we could check in and the plane was an hour late leaving because some people stuck in check in line as that airport was having staffing issues (sick staff). No waiting on tarmac at Pearson either, deplaned and breezed through customs (landed 22:30).

Pro tip from my well traveled cousin: About 40-45min before landing go pee. They wont let you use the bathroom when waiting on tarmac before you de-plane.
