Anyone into gardening here?

I'm in Kingston so that may change things by a degree or so.
Kingston changes things by more than you think. You’re at best zone 6a if you’re near the lake, 5b if you’re not. That a difference of 1-2mos in growing season compared to Toronto.

You probably can’t grow peppers, magnolias, a lot of perennial herbs, need to start tomato’s indoors in early April.

I can reliably get hot peppers if I start early enough but for any that might turn red from green that would be rare but it’s happened before. It’s a harvest in the last weeks of the season though. Toms are good but I have lots of green left at the end of the season on the beefsteaks. We ripen the green ones indoors but we also get a very reasonable yield of the big ones unless we have a big issue with blossom end rot (which usually shows up at some point). No issues with cherry toms or medium bush toms.

I didn’t realize the growing season would be that different to TO.
