2020 Day Trips!

Another beautiful November day - 7 am departure down to Niagara on the lake and then rode the parkway out and back to Fort Erie. What a great stretch of road. Was able to get out of Niagara on the Lake before it got too too busy

Were there any covette groups? I always see a bunch of vetts crusing around those areas, not sure why. I saw a set around Turkey Point yesterday.

Today was great, I think better then yesterday. Wasn't planning to do much, but too nice to pass up. Tons of bikes out.
Went up around north west Barrie passing by the ski resorts. Snow Valley rd and Orr Lake/Moonstone rds are both nice.

No photos today, pitstops I did were kinda boring and not scenic, but here is how it ended up.

Got home before dark, feels good, but weird, so dark early!

Back after a long day of travel today. Did the following route:

I left home pretty early - 4:30am. The 401 was barely scattered with a few cars that early. However, it was cold and foggy. Temp around 3 degrees till Tweed, so I breaked for a while there. But then, the weather opened up beautifully and by 10am, it was in the mid teens.

I wanted to get back before dark so I skipped the elephant lake road which was part of the initial itinerary.

The last leg of the journey was painful. The 401 traffic and the blinding sun.

Overall, it was an enjoyable day to be out on 2 wheels, and I managed to be back home by 6 after 920 odd kms.

Nice spot and nice ride! This pic is from 14 years ago in mid-November too.

Well I did the route that I posted up to Westport and Calabogie then back down to Belleville.
I changed the route slightly to Westport and did #8 instead of #10.

#8 has a wonderful section beside the lake.
Westport is a cute little town with some shops and Bistro’s that make it worthy of a visit.
Calabogi was packed…everyone was out enjoying this wonderful weather.
From Calabogi I rode down to Belleville
Thanks Shane for the great tip on #29 through Flinton J
Charlotte approves the chip wagon in Tweed.
My ride home Sunday consisted of this

ON-62 to Port Perry

This was a cool crisp Sunday morning ride through some beautiful farmland with a family visit in Port Perry.
There looks to be a couple of great places to eat in Rice Lake that I will have to try out next time.
I then blazed to Glen Morris for an afternoon lunch…crazy busy here.
The Rideau Lakes is a wonderful area worth exploring.
About the only down side is everything is brown…this would have been a great colour ride a month ago.
But really its hard to complain when you have weather like this in November.

Nice day today, headed over to Mono/Orangeville, but headed back east as some clouds were rolling in. Much better towards Alliston etc.
Can't complain lots of great riding days for Nov, now to just rest and chill.

Put 11,000 km on k60s in 2015 on my 650 Vstrom cross Canada, all slab, and it easily passed safety. Numerous reports as high as 20,000 miles on rear K60s including a Vstrom rider in Vermont who got 22,000 miles on his.
Bit hard to tell with the mud on the one but doesn't look worn out to me.
This is tho.....worn and worn out ...different things.
The rider still has sipes on his tire....the worn out tire does not.
Maybe lighter bikes are a useful thing.
