Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Makes sense they service mining , literal thousands of pieces go into shoring .
Grading is a funny business , I’m a certified grader for hardwood veneer , ( and a commercial floor inspector but that’s a long story) , we employ a hardwood grader in our mill , that currently only processes softwood , and softwood grader is a different ticket again. The big mills we source from on SPF softwood use scanners to grade the lumber with an occasional look from an inspector .
FWIW all hardwood is graded unplanned, most softwood is graded when planed and many mom + pop mills don’t grade at all , they have an excellent idea what it is and it ships like that .
There are huge fights with religious community like mennonites building barns with ungraded lumber , municipal inspectors hate that . Problem is Hans has been building barns with his team for eighty years and his crew won’t use a piece of crap , your subdivision framer? He’ll use all the crap he can hide .

There was a sad story from the east coast a few years back. A lumberman built a house using wood from his wood lot and mill. The house was so he could share his later years with his wife who had health issues. The municipality wanted it torn down because the wood wasn't stamped.

It was a nasty fight and in the end I think he was allowed to keep the place but it had to be torn down when vacated.

I had good luck with barrina, Gary didn't. The costco shop lights have been popular recently.

Totally forgot I bought a handful when they were being praised on GTAM years ago...but they're the small ones, they may help...
Barrina update

I bought a 6 pack of 8ft Barrina lights for the garage back in July 2022. Took me a month or so install them.

I walked into the garage the other day and 4.5 out of 6 of them are DEAD. Not impressed at all

Over the years, a bunch of single led diodes went out on each one of the 6 pieces, but it wasn't really affecting the overall lighting.

Not sure what the warranty on these is, but lets say it is 50,000 hrs as I believe a lot of LED fixtures are rated at that.
Since July 30 2022 till now, we have lived through about 25,650 hrs.
My lights may have been on over night and during the day several time but that's only about half of its hours life span.

Not sure if I should fork out another $200 for another set or find something else.

I’d ask them for replacements. I’ve had a set in my light garden and another in a garage that have been in service for 3+ years with zero problems.

Good luck!

Didn't ever see 8' ers, or I would have tried them too.
All 2' and 4' barrinas inside my house have worked flawlessly.
I've had more than 20 of both lengths die a quick death in my garage.
I gave up on them.

I am assuming that the recent heat wave may have something to do with it.
Garage is hot and I'm guessing the heat killed them.

They were purchased via Amazon, so I am not sure how the 3 year warranty claim will work.

Wonder if it’s the cold? My garage is heated to a minimum of 62f in the winter, my others are indoors.

Mine are all 4’, the indoor set of 6 are gro-lights in a light garden (I only use that from Jan they May to start annuals for out landscaping.

Valid point.
I did notice that in the winter they tend to give off a slight buzzing and ticking sound.

My garage is attached but normally un heated. In the winter it drops to just above freezing. In the summer is it warm but not screaming hot as attic is insulated and ventilated. I havent had a barrina fail yet.
