Canada Post - Huge losses

So is there a heads up warning to a stoppage?

I may have to mail a small parcel to PQ and don’t want it stalled in the system if there is a wildcat strike or lockout.

Courier isn’t practical

This show is making Trump seem rational.

A strike won't happen that suddenly... I think you'll be fine if you send it asap.

Union asked government for help to get a resolution. Government said fine, your members have to vote on the offer. I bet union heads exploded. They wanted concessions, not to be made irrelevant.

The replacements are already working there though there should be no disruption to DHL service

Thanks to the feds, not any more. New anti-scab legislation kicks in on Friday so they're shutting down.

Who wouldn't like a 22% to 42% raise? It doesn't say if this is per year or over a few years. In any event, this issue might just end DHL Express operations in Canada. All those customers the Union says depend on their service will be looking elsewhere to ship their products. I expect the union members will be on the picket line for a very long time if they don't lower their request.

The union brass will make out fine. It's the workers that suffer.
I agree.

Canadian labour laws should be updated to make it mandatory that offers are put to the union for voting.

For too long unions have had too much power over their members - often leading them over the cliff like lemmings.
