Awesome thanks! Was hoping to dig it up and take it on the weekend (Sunday) but may just have to bite the bullet and take it tonight.

Let’s just hope no mothereffer cuts these branches same as my other tree at the cottage.

Forgot to add: Put a mark on the tree in relation to how it faces the sun so you can put it in the same direction when you plant it.

What type of grass is this? where did it come from? How do I get rid of it?

The attached file which I put together in a past life has a bunch of common turf weeds.
Page 14 can help you better identify if it is crabgrass.

Neighbour is giving us a tree from his yard and I'm planning on taking it up to the cottage and planting it up there.

Not sure of the type, but I plan on digging it out tomorrow after work and then finding time to drive it up to the cottage and digging a hole for it.

Anyone know what kind of timeline do I have here? 1 - 2 - 3 days? less? more?

Just so I have this right... You are digging up a neighbours tree and planting it at the cottage, but you don't know what type of tree it is?

I planted a Magnolia tree today and did a half acre of grass seed with a couple yards of triple mix on the problem areas. Will do another acre of seed and triple on Wednesday.

What type of grass seed did you put down and where did you get it?

If you have never done a soil sedimentation test, that's a cool thing to show your young kids.
Something like the attached pdf, but I prefer to wait longer than 24 hours for the clay to settle, since those particles are so fine and flat they can take several days to settle. Then it can help you know if triple mix is what you need or if you could be better served with something else.

It's because neither of us know the English name for it...Linden (?) or something along those lines.

Nice - there's some pretty sweet Lindens. So do you know the botanical (Latin) name for it then?

Didn't the neighbour say it was a money tree? He just wasn't sure what currency it bloomed with.
