Just doing the speed limit Officer. It's amazing technology. Especially if you just have the one handlebar mounted camera and then you can choose different perspectives from the one camera only.
How fast were you going for that picture you posted?

Haha no I was only asking because the image was pretty clear if you were going at 50-80km/hr. I haven't read much into how the 360 technology works, but I'm guessing it kinda works like a Panoramic shot - by stitching together multiple images over a continuous span of time. To have such a clear image looking back at you on the bike at those speeds is remarkable.![]()
You tryna trick me?
In that pic I was going around 50 km/h, but I did have it up to 80 km/h for a stretch without a problem. 100 km/h shouldn't be a problem on a non-windy day. Not sure how it would handle @shanekingsley -type speeds...
The mount and camera were vibrating quite a bit at that speed, but the camera's built-in stabilization SW is quite effective at keeping the blur to a minimum. The only caveat is that this blurring is dependent on how much light is available. In bright sunlight the motion quality is pretty crisp, but in low-light conditions, image quality becomes grainy and blurry.
Did you get the Insta 360?
It would be awesome to have images like that on a curvy road and you could even look at your own body position to find improvements. Years ago, I used to do that with a GoPro mounted on my dash, pointed back towards me, so that I could fix little mistakes I was making. I would try it again using that 360 perspective.

Haha that video was hilarious - reminded me of the SCTV videos where they get really close and then really far away from the camera for cheesy effects. Once you figure out the little quirks it should be a super cool way to take interesting vids and pics and looking forward to seeing what you come up with!Yep, Insta360 One X2.
I used to do the same on track days. The problem is that you can't get the camera far enough away to capture the entire bike:

With the invisible selfie stick, it lets you get some distance between the cam and bike.
Yeah, was fooling around with the camera between lessons today:
Interestingly enough, the stitch lines are visible when the camera pans around the U-turns. Also, the stabilization seems to focus more on the background than the bike on the rear-mounted position. Gotta play around with it a bit more to learn all the idiosyncrasies.
Wish I could join you have funNeed some fresh air. Turning the phone off and taking backroads to the Forks. Should be there about 10:30/11:00.
ahhh ok so theres technically like a meter long 'invisible' stick attached to the ram mount? i guess thats the only way to get an actual 360 view unless you're mounting it on top of your helmet or something. There's a RAM mount on the left handlebar right beside the spot where the handguard meets the bar.
The 360 SW does a pretty good job at stitching out the HW. I can't even tell by zooming in on the picture.

I've been thinking of doing something like this over the past few years. Might explore a bit of this idea this year.We hit up every doughnut shop we could find in the GTA years ago. Many of them are gone now.
