The sides cases came with the bike. So i added the topcase. There are sturdier units that are available, but really expensive.
Something motivated me today. I rode from Riviere de Loop, up into the country North of Quebec city and up towards Mont Tremblant. Ended up in Renfrew. Almost 900km i think. Going to Oxtongue Lake (daughter's cottage) and probably over to Burks Falls to buy a hoodie at Screaming Heads.
Watching my tires carefully. Pooched at 11k.Jeeesh had 2850k when i got it out this spring.

If you're doing mostly pavement, look at Mtezler Roadtecs, got nearly 18000km, on my Vstrom.

Also had great life out of Avon Angel GT and Roadpilot 5Gt. The GT tires are for highway mile munching, they go forever but are only good on-road.

Avon's are what i am going to try and get. I had them on my MTS and they were awesome. I have no intention of taking a 600lb bike off road.

Had Michelin Road 5 Trail on the front and a Road 5 on the rear of the Wee.

Best tires I've had so far in any weather, but they don't last worth a @#$#@$!

One brand that I can't remember felt like you were riding on wet newspapers in the rain.

Nice relaxed ride from Renfrew to Burks Falls at Screaming Heads. Talked with Peter Camani for about an hour. Very nice man bought the hoodie that I've wanted for years. Yaaaaa! Sitting in the Muskoka room at Ryan and Jessica's cabin now. Listening to the breeze and the birds. Only one thing would make it better.

Burk Falls is one of my fav areas to pitstop.
Maybe next time I will pick up a t-shirt, I think I met the dude you mentioned, seemed cool.
