Where to get a puppy?

That's pretty good!
Track your steps if you can. I wear my fitbit around the ankle with the "clipped on body" mode enabled. On average I do 15.6k steps a day.

Coupled with a relatively clean diet you can shed some fat đź’Ż
Thanks. It's a solid 45-50min walk depending on how co-operative Lucy is.

I do lots of steps, walking, playing with the kids...it's the diet that's my primary issue...especially those late night 9-10-11pm snacks after the kids are down and I just want something. But that's a different thread!

With Lucy I'm looking to start doing a weekly 6.8km route that I do solo while my kid is in scouts...but I don't trust her to be fast enough to do the route in the time required, and there's no shortcuts to be made easily so...can't have the kid waiting.

On my own it takes approx 1.5hrs with 15min to spare.

I have an iPhone Ultra 1 which I typically only use for such walks...but may sell it or give it to my dad as I prefer analog watches.

I don’t measure distance, but my dog gets about 2.5 hours a day total. We don’t have set routes and most of that time is spent off trail. Our after midnight walks thru the local ravine are probably 3-4 kms.

I was curious, so I took some rough measurements yesterday…. The times vary a little from day to day…
7am- 4.2kms
10am- 4.6 kms
11:30am- 1.7kms
4pm- 5 kms
8pm- 4 kms
12:30am - 2.6 kms is the distance to and from the place I let her off. She gets an hour or so off leash in that area as there’s no chance of running into any people or pets.. especially at that time.. most people around here are scared of going down there at night with dogs because of the coyotes.

Damn that's a lot of walking and time!

I only wish I had that amount of time to dedicate to the dog...or the kids...or to myself for that matter!

Up at 5:15am, hit the gym quickly, out the door at 6:15am. Back at 4pm (give or take), play with kids, walk with dog, sleep.

Rinse and repeat.

Sad life.

Dog doesn't want to go outside in the mornings...she's caught on and her bladder can hold it much longer than when she was younger.

It's funny as before Lucy wouldn't want to walk with me solo. Now she loves walking with me, but puts up a fight with my wife...

And I don't give her treats for the walks.

She's also gotten better at nipping me with her teeth (still does it but much less), and she does bark at me in the house...although that's her 'I want to play' bark as it ass up, head down, and tail wagging.

DAMN!!! And I thought my Siberian Husky's daily run of about 8-10km was a lot!

Do you play fight with her?

I do this whenever my dog's in the mood but am careful about his snout/jaws, spine and elbows. No issues with him leaving a few accidental scratches or bite marks on me.

What kind of dog do you have that has that much strength and energy?

Do you feed it a raw food diet?

Yes I’m the only one to play fight with her.

It’s fun until it’s not.

Need to train her still but she’s def getting better.

Uhm….thats a lion….

Our dog has turned ten , she gets two or three Km in the morning and one to two in the afternoon. She is very weather dependent, not a fan of rain ( me either) . We mix up her day with truck rides to CTC and grocery runs ( when it’s safe for her to stay in a car) and now the kayak and boat season are back she loves boat rides and tolerates kayaks .
It took us a while to understand her limitations and what she needed for her best life , but she has us trained .
