What did you do in your garage today..?

I'm trying to find a good free/open source app to track this stuff that works on iPhone when I'm in the garage as well as Windows/browser for when I'm at my computer (hate typing on my phone). Until then, I've been using Zoho Notebook and just dumping the info in there. Works, but could be better.

I use "Notes" on my iPhone. Made it up a few years ago for things like torque settings to weed killer mixing ratios.

I'm also trying to avoid having to go into my phone for any of these as I usually have gloves on while working on something so not having to remove them to look up a note/spreadsheet works better for me.

Removed the air injection from the T100. Quick and easy and find the engine responds better and feels smoother. Could be pure conjecture on my part but, I think it’s worth it.

Also noticed the centre stand come down on some drips in the road. Little garage inspection revealed one of two springs wasn’t fastened. Let the bike cool and slipped it back on and tension is better.

Stopped by the new location of Tons of Gear in Crystal Beach. Lots of bikes and gear. Not a bad place for the cruiser crowd. Even if you didn’t find something, there are tonnes of places for ice cream or refreshments and bite to eat. 😁

Having 3,000 watts of power with the speakers 6' or so off the floor means that playing some practice bass through this system is crystal clear and lets me get enough volume (but not outrageous, the board is set to roughly -40db with 50db of volume to go). I brought down a 4x10 cab and the big head (Bergantino HP Ultra, 2000W @ 4 ohms) to practice. And I'll be playing my 5-string Maruszczyk Headless Frog through it for probably 3 hours today.

Remember these two numbers and you’re safe with 99% of street bikes: 34 front, 36 rear.

Two of mine were pretty close:

T120 32/36
V7 36/36

The other seven not so much.

Adrian has a variety of bikes. The Vespa wants a much lower front tire pressure. I don't know how it would behave at 10 psi above recommended.

Yep.

My GS wants 32/42 (if fully loaded)
My Vespa 26/29
My Rebel (project) 29/29
etc.
I'm slowly completing a Word doc with all the torque/pressure/socket size/capacity for all my maintenance items as same as you instead of having to google it each time. When done I'll stick in inside my tool chest top.

Google docs or a file in Dropbox make multi-device easy.

Why not both? I have digital copies to make easy changes and occasionally print a copy to keep in a convenient location.

The nerd in me is feeling ******* inspired. Thank you gents.

Today I removed this chunky boy from the 'strada.

...now I'm just hoping Canada Post holds up their end of the bargain and delivers my package tomorrow.

When I changed to summer tires on of them was down 10 lbs lower than the others. I should have clued in. I checked it every couple of weeks and it didn’t seem to lose more than a pound or two. Last week I noticed it was low and needed 5 ln to top up. Today it was down another 3.
Took it off and found this

I have a Nealy no glue repair kit that I’ve had for at least 10 years. Used it 3 times before.

The guilty party.

Since it was in the passenger front side I swapped it with the rear just in case my insertion technique failed.

I finished the rear wheel bearing job. Installed the new bearing for the sprocket carrier, installed the new outer seals. I also identified what type of grease the bearings use and packed the space between the outer seal and bearing with the same type of grease, which is now sealed in by the wheel spacer properly now that the outer seal isn't completely worn out.

I've not done the front wheel bearings yet, but I have all the parts. That will be done the next time the bike needs tires, and that's within the next month.

Good for another 150k!

How would you get this bolt out.

It's a metric 3mm Allen. Most likely stainless and it's stripped.
I tried a tox and an imperial equivalent or slightly bigger

Only think I can think of is take it to a shop to tac on a larger bolt head for better grip.

I have experienced that pain. I extracted it with heat and vice grips, but at this time I would likely use a dremel with a cut off disk to make at least one flat side. I have a right angle attachment for mine, but I think you could get in there to make a flat spot.

I haven't tried heat. Not sure you forgot about it.
Not sure if a Dremel cut off disk will help.

No room to get vice grips in there .
