We have a roll-down blind thing on the gazebo that blocks the wind a bit. The 2K clear coat is hideously noxious, so some wind is a good thing to clear the stink out fast enough that the neighbors don't complain.

Over due for a brake/clutch fluid flush so... I did that.
'Clutch took no time at all... Front left brake caliper... 'Same.
How did I forget my FJR has two bleeder valves on the front right caliper..?
Of course I start with the wrong one and end up sucking all the fluid out of the rear reservoir while wondering why no fluid is leaving the front reservoir... Idiot.
Long story short... 'Managed to get it all done including bleeding the ABS pump... 'Took 'er for a spirited test run and all is good.
I think my Miteyvac bleeder pump thing is F###ed. though...
Just couldn't get the foamy bubbles to end... 'Switched to the old fashioned method of squeeze, open, close, un squeeze repeat and had it all bled in no time.
Threw the POS mitey-vac into the garbage.

hand tightened the oil drain bolt on my 1980 xj650 thinking it's exactly the same as a car. go to work and see a wet spot... service manual states 31 inch ft lbs. clack clack no more drips but i think i may need to gorilla arm it next oil change.
"31 inch ft lbs"??? Typo? The service manual actually says that?
That's what I was thinking. 31 in lbs seems way too low. 31 ft lbs in aluminum seems higher than I expect.
I just did a search and the recommended torque in the Yamaha manual is 31 ft.lbs or 40Nm which is just over 29 ft.lbs

I've never heard of hand tightening oil drain bolts, only the actual filter.
Same.
I assume he meant hand tightened as in no torque wrench. Clack clack, no more drips, I thought was a torque wrench clicking.

Just got off the intertoobs with FortNine... New rubber and an air filter ordered.
I have only 7700km on the current tires, but...
'Leaving first week of July on what'll probably end up being a 9000 plus km trip so... I'm sure my current set won't be enough to make it back safely
'Already did my clutch/brake fluid flush and will also check a bunch of other things before blasting off on another jaunt to the BC interior.
Just got off the intertoobs with FortNine... New rubber and an air filter ordered.
I have only 7700km on the current tires, but...
'Leaving first week of July on what'll probably end up being a 9000 plus km trip so... I'm sure my current set won't be enough to make it back safely

Curious to hear your shipping experience with Fortnine because for me, what used to be 48 hours for in stock items (“ships same day”) is now 3/4/5 days.

They're shipping with Purolator for the time being, rather than Canada Post. Perhaps that makes a difference?

I'm jealous, it was always 4+ days for me on tires.
Same. Ordered some givi stuff from Italy, 1 week. Sent my own stuff home from Italy, almost 1 month. Cool cool cool.
The last few tires I've bought (Michelin Road 6) were from Revco and they were at my door in 48 hrs.
And I always have a spare set of tires that have at least 50% tread in the garage, so if there ever was a delay, I'm still good for a while. Easy to do with one type of bike and size of tires needed.
