TV shows currently watching

Slow Horses on Apple has been a pleasant surprise.

Also binged Dept Q.

Having low expectations helps but, I did find the quality of story line and character development good overall for both.
Absolutely loved Slow Horses. It was a ‘I’m bored and there’s nothing to watch…let’s try this’

Blown away

Currently watching ‘Your Friends and Neighbours’ on AppleTV and it’s a slow burn that gets better as you get further into it.

On the last episode today.

EDIT: Apparently there will be a new season of Slow Horses coming up at some point...S7 in September 2025 or so.

Bittersweet for me as Roger was the reason I started watching tennis...just a magician.
I saw his Australian match with Nadal when Nadal was an unknown and was shocked when he gave Roger a real scare.....who is this kid.??
Been watching any number of his top matches on Youtube and catching some I'd never seen and marveling at his talent.
I still consider him the GOAT even if his wins don't match up to some of the others.
Like the idea of the Lever Cup.
Lots of tears in the audience including from Roger, Rafah and even Novak

Different from the UK series - still real life cases.
Differences show up, gun cases in NYC, more homeless cases. Got to see a C section end to end and my daughter was born that way and put in my arms to wake up ( born asleep ). Wonderful memory seeing her eyes open sort examine me and then back to sleep. Lot easier birth than her brother - not sure why my ex decided on a "natural birth" after a C- section.
He had a few health issues early on tho nothing dire and then type one diabetes at 9. Miss him but see him on the screens several times a day.

One puzzling thing ...thirty ish rescue copter pilot ....peak of her career ...won't get vaccinated . So will lose her job despite working through covid in NYC and seeing the chaos, certainly smart enough ....why screw your life over a vax?? that she even encourages others to get....
Don't know yet what she finally decided....clearly drank the koolaid. :cautious:

The stories behind the four surgeons featured are just incredible.
••
Is Sandman any good? I'm conflicted on Gaiman subject matter.

I enjoyed it, and have a copy of "Preludes and Nocturnes" somewhere, but he's done. The star does a very good job of depicting Dream. I was curious how they would handle the voice and it just seems to be the actors own voice, instead of any sort of manipulation, which I appreciated. The way they do the speech bubbles in the graphic novels indicates something otherworldly.

Untamed was good, but used the typical story of betrayal to wrap up the ending. Felt too convenient.

Ballard was great - same level as Bosch. Clearly they have a second season in mind with how it ended. Maggie is quite captivating.

Couldn't get into untamed. Maybe will try again another time.

Ran out of real medical shows. 4 am and 9c real....bundled in my 3 season motorcycle jacket as final layer.
The last episode of Lennox Hill was a close look at covid start in NYC ..refrigerated morgues and all. :(
This looks good - gorgeous scenery
Damn 100 missing people calls a DAY!!! Huge territory the size of Belgium, rough terrain and few officers or people.

Thought that I'd give "Renegade Nell" another watch (D+), before "Wednesday" season 2 drops, on Wednesday. Nell could have well done with another couple of seasons. Good stuff.

Finally gonna tackle this
Not sure of this yet - mebbe too soapy. I do like Costner and hey 6 seasons with gorgeous scenery. 🍿

This is not exactly a TV show but a web series. I have been watching it for a few years on Youtube till they moved to their own paid platform. The show is called On Cinema. You might recognize the main character who plays a version of himself Tim Heidecker. It is hard to describe the show really, I can't get enough of it. Each season has a slow building story for Tim who keeps getting into weird things from religion to health stuff. Very little actual movie reviews as it seems everything else going on in Tim's life takes precedence much to the chagrin of his co-host and self proclaimed movie expert Gregg Turkington. They also do Oscar specials and other things as well. There is a whole universe around these characters now. Quick way for great laughs, till you get hooked then it is binge watching. It was originally a podcast, I did not learn that till very recently so have not touched those yet.

They get better as they go. I am on season 15 and laughing more and more then I did in the beginning.

Season 1 Episode 1.

Someone put together this site to keep the whole series in order:
