Bleeping CBC propaganda machine. "will he support measures that the government says would only affect the very richest Canadians?". Media should be debunking that tripe not repeating it. It isn't hard and will show how far from reality that talking point is.
I disagree. The CBC correspondent said: "Instead, the government is expected to table a stand-alone bill to update the tax system so the wealthiest Canadians and businesses pay taxes on a greater share of their profits." There was no quote from the government, just an assumption that they spoke truth. I guess that means when they say this will only affect the wealthiest 0.1%, that you're richer than you think.
Perhaps people should write in and note the editing error?

CBC is in a in a conundrum. Under Liberal govt, their life continues status quo - everyone stays fat and life continues as it has for the last 10 years.
Under PCs, the CBC will see massive defunding - preserving their perceived jewels in TV and Radio news will require addressing perceptions of Liberal bias.
CBC has had difficulty balancing editorial independence with political pandering for decades. PCs will require they do better - if they can’t maintain public trust, they can’t expect funding support.
That’s hard work the CBC is not used to.

The reason the Liberals broke the CG out of the budget is not at all for that reason, that’s the Liberal’s spin parroted by the CBC as expected.
The real reason Liberals broke out the bill was to make it politically thorny for the PCs to vote against the tax.

The obvious reason is that the older generation rely very much on television media for their news. We all know Trudeau has bought that media support, as much as he is trying to silence those he can't buy, so it's no surprise the elderly would vote the way they have been groomed to.
PP was adopted and raised by school teachers, JT's dad was PM. No comparison.
BWT, that's old-school teachers, not the pink-haired groomers my children have to be subjected to these days.
In my opinion, the Conservatives wouldn't be good for Canadians, but the Liberals are pure evil attempting to destroy Canada.

They both know their way around politics, it's all they have ever done.
I don't hold that against them - I know lots of good plumbers, salesmen, doctors, and executives that have had single track careers and are at the top of their categories.
I'm concerned first with ideology, then next with leadership capability. Part of leadership is charm and charisma, that's a big lever for JT, and was a short lever for Scheer and O'Toole. I think Polywog has enough charm to neutralize JT, but more importantly, he can communicate that he understands Canadian's concerns and pains. He does that in clear and simple language, he answers questions with answers.
JT is utterly out of touch, his signature line 'We're here for all Canadians" is his only offer -- doesn't work when the population is comfortable.
The other thing Poly has done is keep the focus on himself, and off anyone who can repel voters. JT, not so much -- Freeland's honeymoon is over, she's now just a meme, Joli isn't far behind, and the rest of his cast are proving inept or radical.
Are you sure it's not because PP comes across as petulant suck that only answers questions with more questions and tends to be rude to those asking the question??
Be objective, what kind of questions are they asking.

I think PP has a keen sense of media bias, and who in the media is politically pandering. Those guys get the cheap shots. I think that’s part of his strategy, and it seems to work as the journalists that come at him with loaded or rhetorical questions end up looking awkward.
