This bike is an attainable goal for me at some point in my life.

Currently I want something better for day touring….that ain’t it.

Maybe one day.

'03 sv650 for $1250

High km, but they're pretty indestructible. Says 138,000km

Good first bike (if you can afford the insurance)

$5200 for a 390

Anyone have one? How are these for longer distances?
They are excellent. One of the guys who comes with me on the Solstice rides has one and he does long days no problem. I think you may have ridden with him in a longer ride with me too. Those bikes are surprisingly quick and nimble.

I think I remember him. First time I went on the Solstice ride with you and your buddies.

IIRC he was stupidly quick on it.

Marc of Marc Travels rode one in his 28 states in 28 days around India with some exceptionally long days. I was impressed with the bike as was he tho the chain life according to the manual is very short and he needed a new chain before he completed the ride.
He did some very long days
Coming off Eve his EV sports bike he seemed to have little complaint about power.
I considered one but with KTM issues decided to pass. Now that has been resolved ..might be good for you. Do your homework.

Very nice! But outside of budget.

You.... specifically you, do not want that bike.
Alright I'll bite...why not?

Scrambler sold in 24h since I posted it on the weekend so the bike is now gone and the new owner texted me last night saying he can't believe how great the bike is (now I'm regretting the sale).

So I'm in the market again...but for now holding off as kids are growing, wife is uneasy with drivers and riding within the GTA, etc etc.

Not starting a new thread because I don't feel like getting mocked, and I'm fairly confident I know what I want.

Here's the Ducati leaving me forever (a part of me hoped the guy would change his mind and want his money back):

Listed for $5500 and sold for $5k. Had no bites at 6500 and 6000 last year so figured I just want it gone...miss that sound already.

I just cannot see you being satisfied with a 45 HP bike. It really is a simple as that.

I believe you would be left underwhelmed rapidly, especially moving from the Scrambler.

Fair. I had the 500cc before and while it was good...it was meh.

So going back down from 800cc -> 390cc was more of a curiosity thing.

I'm thinking the 650cc is the lowest I'd be willing to go, but I also haven't ridden a KTM before so...
