Thankfully the riders were spared. Even with seeing the video I have a problem comprehending what happened.
It looked like a car was coming off the highway and crossed the median into oncoming traffic right in front of the riders...
That's what I gathered from the comments in the post where I pulled the video from.
Allegedly a drunk driver.
That looks like Steeles Ave, over the 410. The lights of for the northbound and southbound ramps change at roughly the same time and had just gone green. My guess would be that the vehicle that ended up in oncoming traffic didn't slow for the traffic at the light, that had just started moving, and slammed into the other vehicle from behind.
