The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Got a video of another blatant red light run ill be posting tomorrow

Given that I drive back and forth from work for about 1 1/2 hours each way daily, from Vaughan to the downtown core, I think I'd end up spending too much time uploading and editing.

That being said, I don't really see any true idiots until I get back to Vaughan. At least downtown, people are more predictable however aggressive they're driving.

Even today at the 400/Langstaff off ramp. Dude was stuck in a long line of trucks/cars trying to turn right with the 2 left turn lanes open as the car in front and I are going. Dude doesn't put any indicator on, based on the way he positioned his car, he would not be able to see if the way was clear, and he full out turned into the guy in front of me. The look on his face - clueless. Was purely just hoping no one was coming.

Believe it or not I haven't seen too much out of the regular for the past month.

I can't wait to upload this video, I doubt it but I hope I got his plate.

Should have saw him coming earlier.

Looks like he was waiting for the red? WTF? Bragging rights?

I have seen the cause for similar situations to this related to distracted driving where the driver is doing something (ie. texting/looking down doing something) and they see a green light in the peripheral vision and hit the gas as they're starting to look up. By the time they realize anything happened, they've either gotten into an accident or they cleared the intersection.

In terms of distracted driving, it is REALLY bad in that area between Hwy7/400 and Hwy7/Pine Valley.

Did he say that was a 500 dollar job? More like 800-1k assuming they get a new painted bumper.

A bumper shroud replacement and repaint, alone, is about $1.5K. if the fender is repaired and repainted, it would be another $500-800.

I would have checked up in the middle of that left turn until the bus cleared the right turn, to place myself arriving through the intersection behind the bus instead of beside its rear bumper. I have a policy of not proceeding through an intersection in a way that will put me side-by-side with someone who could potentially make the turn into the wrong lane.

Never forget the prime directive of figuring out who has the right of way: Trucks are big!

He also mentioned quarter panel damage but I didnt see any. Or else that would have added another 2.5+K easy.

For replacement, yes. Less if it's repairable.

*EDIT* I went back again and looked at it full screen. I don't see any fender damage, but there are scuffs on the tire and rim.
