Rode down over the weekend to a few places down south. Covered Allegheny, Kinzua Bridge State Park, Hyner View State Park etc amongst other interesting places.
Throughly enjoyed it!

Very nice, do you mind sharing the route or gpx files?

If it helps you, the first post in this thread has the best roads of PA mapped to add to any sights you might want to see.

and

Here is a 2 day route I did that covered many of the better roads in the PA area. I stayed at the Super 8 in Williamsport.
Day 1: Google Maps
Day 2: Google Maps

All the sites can be found in Google Maps. It's fun making your own route and you may discover other things nearby.
Here is the gpx file I created, if is anyone interested. Thanks for the Google map route @kurtrules

I will definitely be doing it in one of the upcoming weekend.

We recently went do to PA. Had 3 days planned out only did 2 days.

I'll post the GPX file when I get home

That looks great ... need to get down there at some point. Better than the ride to Cape Breton & back?

This is the route we had planned a few weeks go.
GPX files are starting and ending at a Grimsby Starbucks.

Looks awesome for both trips!

When the kids get a bit older I may be able to get away on these multi-day trips. So far it's a day max :(

Pennsylvania can be done in long a day. You can get some decent roads in the same distance as Mississauga to Wilno and back, taking the scenic way.
I never considered even going just for a day...Wilno and back is effectively a full day on the bike.

That's gotta include highway there and back to do it in 1 day??

Correct. It’s not that much more highway than taking the 400/11 north or the 401 east than we might typically do to get to the good roads in Ontario.

From Mississauga it’s 90 minutes to the border and then another 90 minutes of secondary roads in NY/PA to get to the start of good roads in PA. If I was doing a 12 hr day, then I can get in a solid 6hrs of nice roads for a PA day trip.

1 Day trip in Sept far more difficult as shorter days and you do NOT want to be in PA or NY at dusk or dawn.
Running the QEW to and from the border is relatively safe at night from critters but nothing further south.
You could also score a cheap place in Fort Erie , just off the QEW in the Falls
There are lots cheap

Another option instead of one day is leave the afternoon of the day before. Then hole up before dark in PA. Ride till later afternoon then head back ...as mentioned - light until 9pm. Best time of year.
Just mind the deer in the morning as well.
