Pickup Trucks

Good luck. Any mechanic I've talked to over the last 6 months have said they're a lot more scared of ministry repercussions now that they are required to take photos and measurements and document things better. Even getting my trailer safetied was a bigger deal this year. I'm sure if you head Brampton way you may increase your odds but who knows.
Yup, this is what I expected. But figured I'd ask.

Like I stated this one would have been a few hundred bucks, as I know the owner.
Currently My truck budget is zero dollars.
For a truck for a few hundred bucks i would buy it, register it, and never leave the property with it so that you can use it around for work on the property.

Then a UTV would probably be a better choice I paid 4000 for mine and I can drive it on the road if I really want to a truck is going to be expensive to keep running etc when it doesn't get used.

While I agree. We’re comparing a 4K UTV to a few hundred dollar truck.

I’d take the truck and use it until it dies

I agree, the truck would die a quick death due to lack of use.
At this point I'm best to keep my money and continue to wait.

Picked up a tri-fold hard cover for my Maverick (as opposed to the current soft rollup) and some rails that would allow for installation of a bed rack with t-slot mounting on the bottom.

Anyone have anything that works with this type of solution? Looking for some online and they are expensive as F.

The guy that sold me the cover/rails has an extruded aluminum rack which he offered to sell me, but I'm not convinced about strenght / rigidity so looking for some advice from the community here as I know we've got some good brainpower here.

The rack would primarily be for transporting ladders, some lumber, and a roof top box occassionally for day use. Highest weight would be a potential small jon boat (300-500lbs).

That's a pic of his truck (he may even be a GTAM member as he rides but I never asked).

This is what I'm considering it against from TRUXEDO and their Elevate rack system

I've seen a lot of racks that clamp onto the bed from the inside, but the problem is they won't work with the cover.

An option would be to buy a normal rack, cut off the vertical side piece and then drill through the aluminum to create the t-slot connection.

Thoughts? Recommendations?

Now you'll impress the kids with that spoiler.. 😂

This seems like a great idea. If I had land I'd own a fleet of "field cars".
