Need safety inspection pass asap!

That's not the only problem.
Insurance is not valid if there is ANY problem with the registration of the vehicle.
You can be screwed even if your plate sticker is not renewed.
If the bike is not properly registered and plated under the owners name, they will not pay you any insurance.
Even things like your license not being valid, for what ever reason.

I called Parker Brothers earlier this week and I`m pretty sure that the vmail greeting said that they do free pick-up during the offseason. They`re in the west end, so if you`re in Mississauga that might be a good way to go.

They do very good work and they charge a premium rate.

Cyclewerx is further east, but Tom is a great guy and tends to charge a bit less. I don`t know what they charge for picking up a bike, but it would be worth calling to find out.

These suggestions are great! Thanks.

I've decided I'll try these out and worst case just rent a big uhaul truck and strap the bike in there and take it to Canadian Tire.

The last thing I would want to have happen is getting pulled over without any kinda paperwork :S

What kind of bike is it? Keep mentioning how big is it? What is it?

Do not under any circumstances take any vehicle you care about to Canadian Tire for any reason other than to satisfy cross-border paperwork requirements.

A good motorcycle mechanic is worth his or her weight in gold - you have to look to find them, and once you do, be loyal. You are unlikely to find someone who really knows and cares about bikes at any CanTire. I don't want to hurt the feelings of any CanTire employees or mechanics here, but my car experience with CanTire has been pretty awful - there's no way I'd take a bike there. Also, a safety for your first bike is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to a good local wrench, and they will appreciate the work in the off-season.

Having been caught doing this before, I agree 100% and encourage you to stick to that plan.

I called Parker Bros again and the vmail greeting definitely said that they do free pickup for maintenance right now. Give them a call. They have a high shop rate, but I've had very good experience with them.

If you find another shop that you want to take the bike to, MotoLimo does motorcycle-specific towing. I find their rates reasonable, and I don't think anyone will take better care of your bike in transit. Bikes are all that they do, and they have some nice custom-made bike towing gear that will take good care of your green meanie.

Do you need anything else done on the bike? Because if you don, Ken (kneedragger88 ) picks up the bikes and returns them at no extra charge (in an enclosed trailer). He can also safety your bike if he'll be working on it.

Is Ken a licensed mechanic that can do the safety as well?

Two years ago he told me that he is licensed to do the safety. It sucked because I just did that at CT, but I was getting a lot of things done by Ken after, so if I knew, it would have saved me a bit of time and money.

How big is your bike?
Do you have the dimensions?
My buddy has a 18 wheeler. I can ask how much he would charge to pick it up for you.

One time I took a perfectly fine working car to C.T.
They agreed to perform a screw extraction that I did not have the tools to do myself.
After all was said and done, I had to tow the car home, and pay for the mechanic's time.
Pathetic.
