Do you have a buddy with a pick up truck? Load it on.
Um. Hold on now. I think I'll have to burst your bubble.
If you get insurance fraudulently, do you really think they will pay a claim?
These suggestions are great! Thanks.
I've decided I'll try these out and worst case just rent a big uhaul truck and strap the bike in there and take it to Canadian Tire.
The last thing I would want to have happen is getting pulled over without any kinda paperwork :S
Do not under any circumstances take any vehicle you care about to Canadian Tire for any reason other than to satisfy cross-border paperwork requirements.I've decided I'll try these out and worst case just rent a big uhaul truck and strap the bike in there and take it to Canadian Tire.
Having been caught doing this before, I agree 100% and encourage you to stick to that plan. The last thing I would want to have happen is getting pulled over without any kinda paperwork :S
....Just put it in your backpack
Is Ken a licensed mechanic that can do the safety as well?

A good motorcycle mechanic is worth his or her weight in gold - you have to look to find them, and once you do, be loyal. You are unlikely to find someone who really knows and cares about bikes at any CanTire. I don't want to hurt the feelings of any CanTire employees or mechanics here, but my car experience with CanTire has been pretty awful - there's no way I'd take a bike there. Also, a safety for your first bike is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to a good local wrench, and they will appreciate the work in the off-season.

I called Parker Bros again and the vmail greeting definitely said that they do free pickup for maintenance right now. Give them a call. They have a high shop rate, but I've had very good experience with them.
If you find another shop that you want to take the bike to, MotoLimo does motorcycle-specific towing. I find their rates reasonable, and I don't think anyone will take better care of your bike in transit. Bikes are all that they do, and they have some nice custom-made bike towing gear that will take good care of your green meanie.
