Goodbye 250!

OK thanks that's the only one I found as well. Thought there may have been more.

Go here: http://motorcycle.honda.ca/safety/recalls

put in your VIN, it'll spit out if there's an 'official' recall.

also: Toll Free: 1-888-9-HONDA-9 (1-888-946-6329)Hours: 8:00 am to 7:30 pm Mon to Fri (EST)

Give them a call if nothing comes up online, and ask if they will honour the US recall, as they are the same bike.

I know theres a recall for my bike (2013 500XA) but nothing came up ... :S)with the website.

Oh well..id checked with the dealer and he said they did it

The recall isn't a big deal, don't let it stop your deal. I believe it
applies to 2013s only. Any Honda dealer will do the work at no charge.

What ever u do don't get a 400r they only made em for a year for a reason lol plus the power to weight blows
Its pretty much a 650r with a 400 motor in it .

It is a 650R. Only difference is smaller pistons and the cylinders are sleeved. At least as far as I'm aware.

SV650's get better reviews than the 650R's.

So theoretically.....I can remove the sleeve of the cylinder get bigger pistons, and a 400 magically turns into a 650?! I need to call my buddy as he's got a 400!

The reason for that 400 is for places like Australia and Europe with strict learner bike regulations.

One of the new Yammies has a HP restriction on it to meet those requirements.
Aus equivalent of the FZ-07

MT-07, 655cc parallel twin to be released in Australia from September, priced at $8999 RRP and even LAMS approved.

Picked it up this morning! Easy drive to Belleville and trailered it back. Can't wait to ride it!

Fiddled with the Givi hard luggage rack I have from my 250....it may just fit depending on how it'll mount under the seat. Will have to give it some more attention in the next few days.

Yeah, that red is gorgeous! Love it.

Nice choice, you'll have a great time on that bike. My wife loves her 500F, and even allows me the occasional rip. Here's a shot of our fleet:

Too bad they don't make an ER4-N here in North America :( I believe Europe had one though...they get all the fun stuff :(
Buy a 400R and swap the parts from an ER6N. Bike is the same besides the engine and plastics.

No need now with the new 500F! I love the naked look on the bikes that are out there nowadays.

Any updates here? What's the verdict on the new bike?

Haven't ridden it yet :( Wanted to take it out on Saturday but got caught up with a bunch of family stuff and then it started raining.

Will have it out this week hopefully! Bikes looks and sounds great though.

Great looking bike mimico. I have to admit though, there are days when I do miss my little CBR250. :-)

Thanks! I think it'll fill in the holes that the 250 was missing...better highway, long distance, and 2-up than the 250. I like the fact it doesn't feel all that much bigger with a nice bump up in power.

FWIW the 400r makes a great starter bike, especially if your a bigger rider! Great on gas, cheap to insure (classified in the 300 cc class as its technically 399 cc), has enough power to get started, and much more comfortable than a 250 for someone over 6' tall.

And the 400r was made for 2 years, 2011 and 2012.
