Goodbye 250!

I just bought a used 650 versys. On my had one short test ride prior to purchase, but I know I'm gonna love it. Very comfortable upright position, decent engine with a great midrange. It'll make a great daily commuter etc, then with the v35's on sw motech quick release racks, vario touring screen with laminar lip, and heat demons it'll be ready to go anywhere else on the weekend. :D

what happens in north america if you have multiple bikes ranging from 125cc to 900cc?

Mine start at 996cc and go to 2053cc.

Yeah i know, was trying to make a point lol....because they realized what garbage the 400 was lol.
I don't get how you can possibly say that... I really don't. The bike has a better power to weight ratio than almost every car on the street, hell I could probably take a genny with ease if I wanted to. The bike would stop beating cars in the sti range.

Anything under the sti , like a civic Si, Frs, Genny, Audi a4, probably even a gti dare I say would get effing slapped. **** even a Lexus 2 and 350 got slapped by me. So how are you going to go on and tell me that this sub 4000 dollar bike is garbage when it's beating cars in the 30-35k range...

You claim the 300 is better, tell me how if you're a highway commuter and you're in higher Rev ranges than the 400.

I gave you a chance, but I'm starting to conclude that you really don't have the slightest idea of what you're talking about...

Also, a year after they introduced the ninja 300 they released the 2014 ninja 400 in certain countries. LOL.

Don't get so butt hurt over your bike. It's a slow bike its a parallel twin. But its two wheels and if you enjoy it great. Get a 600 and youll think it's a dog. You must be joking if you think this bike can out pull every car on the street... Great I can beat a civic lmao and get trash by a sti. Go ride next to even a ninja 650 and it will make you feel like your sitting still. There's always gonna be a faster car than a bike and even I can amit that when getting out pulled by a r8 v10.
Now stop whining I'm trying to give this guy advice I think the 650 is a better purchase for him, I've ridden both bikes and the 650 is way better bang for buck and he won't outgrow it as fast.

Also you clearly haven't ridden a 300 they are more than enough for the highway they top out at 180-190 don't bash a bike unless you've ridden it . I've ridden all the ninjas 250,300,400,650,636,1000,1400 I know what I'm talking about clearly you don't

Did you read my post.... At all?

When did I bash the 300 it's highway cruising rpm at 100 kmh is 6800 rpm. Which was my point.

And no **** the bike is going to be slow next to a god damn inline four or a bigger engine you fool. "yes I'll take the category 'what are simple physics for 300 dollars please'".

That argument is null because it's never ending. Civic Si is **** because my sti is faster. Your sti is **** because my Evo is faster. Your Evo is **** because my z06 is faster. Your z06 is **** because, we'll I've driven a gtr and it's faster.

Your logic is so empty.

Interesting discussion. Leads me to wonder how many cc you can remove from a given bike before you throw in the towel? I know for the 1200 Sportster it's around 300cc or so. An 883 would still put the hurt on a city bus so there's that.

I'm pretty sure my 125 could beat any transport truck on the road....up to 110kph....

250 on the other hand....maybe a few Si's, GTIs, but not much more powerful than that....

Both bikes would beat most cars up to 40-60kph....beyond that I'm not so sure.

Actually his post is spot on. He also does not say one machine is **** because another is faster. He clearly states he believes the 650 is better due to not outgrowing it as quickly.

You may want to follow your own advice and read the post you are quoting in your response. Calling someone a fool is proving you are getting emotional about the subject matter.

Calm down, your 400 is a great bike.

Ducati Monster 696 vs 1200 may be an example. The 1200 shares the engine with Multistrada, Diavel, and Panigale I believe. This huge drop in cc is acceptable tho since its from a very fast bike to a still fast bike.

His arguments premised on the notion that

What ever u do don't get a 400r they only made em for a year for a reason lol plus the power to weight blows
.

Seeing as he doesn't provide any other reasoning other than "they made it for a year" as if that establishes anything. I think it's acceptable to accept his premise as relating the 400r to other bikes or else why the hell else would he say it's a bad bike. Everything is relative here and that way of thinking, as I stated before, would go on forever.

For sure the power to weight doesn't blow. I like your bike personally.

Its amusing how worked up you get. I know your too stubborn to stop digging a hole so I'll let you think you know so much about what's the best bike for our buddy!

Let's agree
300 is a awesome bike
400 is a good bike but
650 is a better bang for buck and is more long term of a bike then the 300 and 400.

Re: High mileage? by misdt
There's a guy in Bavaria (Germany) who's put 102,500 miles (164,000 km) on his F (took her practically a couple of times around the globe) and then sold her, without ever having anything going wrong with her (except wear and tear, if I remember correctly: 2 clutches, 5 brake pads (right expression?) one brake disc (again, too lazy to look in the dic...), all front. 1(!) pad, rear. To sets of rack, pinion and chain. This being well documented by one of the more reputable biking magazins in Germany.
Pitifully the fog of recent history is shading her trails now... To view the complete thread and reply, please visit: http://f650.com/Forums/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=14344

2004 BMW F650CS in excellent condition with only 40505 kilometers.
Lots of torque & very responsive, fun bike!
Comes with adjustable windshield, original windshield, original tank bag, givi top box, original rear rack, handle bar riser, and heated grips. Tires have lots of life left in them. Seat has tiny tear, as seen in picture, that is glued well and has not increased in size.
Specs: http://www.mbike.com/bmw/f650cs/2004
Price is $3800 cash or certified cheque. Will hold only with $1000 deposit. No trades. I am willing to safety.
The bike is in amazing condition. The only reason I am selling, is that I am going with a different size and style of bike.

Did you have to do any additional maintanence other than the scheduled/preventative maintanence?
I sold mine at 45k and still missing it today <3

You get a massive thumbs up from me keeping a bike (and a 250 at that) for 100k. Very respectable and cost conscious.

Wish I has kept mine too. Would have ridden it in crappy weather rain, salty roads etc.

hehe good on ya mate....

only rush like those "compensation devices" were a little bit with on the ST1100 and a whole lot on one 0-100 mph on a Kawi 750 two stroke triple way back when.

My 2 cents from reading up about a few of those bikes...

I chose the 500x which are close to impossible to find used (been looking since august, ended up buying a new one from sudbury). From august till now only 2 of them were available at decent pricing on the used market.

Ive read reviews of the ER6n... and ill find it in a bit but a guy who had a 500 and got a er6n as a loaner found the 6n a lot buzzier and unpleasant to ride, (ill be posting it here later)
EDIT: http://www.cbr500riders.com/forum/2...29-my-second-f-bike-incredible.html#post90385
of course thats one man`s view

As for the FZ... i find them hot and ive got nothing to say for or against them.

I was also considering the versys as there are TONS of them..but they are on the taller and top heavy side.
