I did it one year. Four hardwood skids made the cave and then snow on top. Safe. Burnt the skids in the spring and then used a magnet to pull pounds of nails out of the firepit. Never again. Too much work. Just a pile with no core since.

Plows get some kids too. Tha mount of hand-wringing and stupidity by barrie parents continually amazes me. Half of them think plow drivers should hop out and inspect snow pile before plowing in case there are kids. Aside from that being completely infeasible, what happened to parenting and teaching your kids about danger?
Agreed. My kid was playing in the snow pile in front of the house as the plow got near. I yanked him out of there but the plow operator saw him thankfully.
Ours aren’t allowed at the front of the house without one of us present just for this reason. Way too dangerous.

Burnouts, side by side racing etc all went down right outside of school when I went.
And there wasn't any 20/30kph signs near them.

I’m trying to convince my wife to let me hook the kids up to the back of the truck and pull them around the neighbourhood like we did as kids….
So far she’s not on board.
Cops charged a guy in Guelph for that in the last few days.
Well the trick is doing it in a non very populated area…
They were in a parking lot stunt driving charge. IMHO complete overkill on the cops part.

We built an igloo dog house for the stray we look after at an our camp up north.
We make snow bricks using one or those Dollarama snow brick makers.
Hobo loves it, keeps him out of the -40 temps snd colder winter winds. Solid as a brick shithouse.
