Cheap helmet review by Ryan F9...options under $200

When I watch that video I immediately thought about @bigpoppa 's passengers.
(I hope you are doing alright, amigo and to see you in a burger night , maybe?)

@mimico_polak have you considered the Bell Lithium? I was considering that for my wife. It's ECE22.06, and has an integrated sun visor.

I haven't been actively looking yet, but looking at my 2 BELL's...it's time to start thinking of replacements.
I'm not seeing that helmet for under 200 bucks?

Agreed...at first I thought it was maybe $200USD...but Fortnine is a CAD company...

Yeah but their audience isn't Canadian because we're so tiny and no one rides here :(

For perspective, this is where all of my motorcycle channel's views came from in the last 365 days:

USA - 40%
UK - 8.8%
CAN - 6.1%
AUS - 4.5%
PHI - 3.2%

I'm sure at the scale that they are at compared to my little 26,000 subscribers, Fort Nine's probably even more USA-heavy.

All of my videos I default to miles, and to USD, because that's what makes the most sense for my audience, but I also put the $ CAD and KM either mentioned out loud or as text on screen because I don't want all my people left out.

Why does Canada not get those graphics??
I'm gonna guess it's because the distributor didn't order them, so they just don't exist here

With the exception of a couple of Joe Rocket helmets I don't see any brands I recognize. Most say "exclusive" to Canadian Tire. Don't think I would every buy one.

That's the rub. The marketing dollars to get a brand name recognized quickly push the retail price past $200 for a quality product that also passes all the Sharp and ECE tests so savvy-enough buyers would want to buy one.

why?
You can usually buy new liners and visors on name brand helmets.

Don’t helmets expire 🧐?

We had a good discussion about this a while back:

I've had a few "cheap" helmets. The comfort and build quality of Shoei and Arai is so much better. You get what you pay for.
That's not been my experience. I bought a shoei gt air 2 a couple years ago. Nothing about it is better than previous mid-range helmets I had, and in some ways it's worse (very clunky shield release mechanism). I doubt I'll buy another shoei.
