Cheap helmet review by Ryan F9...options under $200

I picked this up for $20 the other day. The next Friday The 13th in Port Dover is on Halloween, maybe I’ll dress up as The Great Gazoo and give Thong Man a run for his money.

"Hello dum-dums..."

Haha, is it just me, or do others get the Great Gazoo mixed up with Marvin the Martian sometimes?

Didn’t make any good friends during your travels? Ship to them in the Europe and have them ship to you?

All my cousins from the UK/Ireland moved back to Poland so I can try to help through some Polaks if you’d like.

With the UK having Brexited the EU, doing this might be more expensive, since both shipping and duties could each be charged twice?

I read this article the other day about a British tourist (of course it was a british tourist in Italy) who got a 14,000 EUR bill because he decided to disregard signs and go somewhere he wasn't supposed to be an needed emergency rescuing. That's about $22,000 CAD.

Meanwhile, earlier in the week two belgian tourists did the same thing but faced a much smaller bill because they're part of the EU. Story here: https://www.accuweather.com/en/leis...dolomites-hes-now-facing-a-16000-fine/1803087

Brexit really cut the UK off from the mainland financially. It's like they're on an island or something.

That's not been my experience. I bought a shoei gt air 2 a couple years ago. Nothing about it is better than previous mid-range helmets I had, and in some ways it's worse (very clunky shield release mechanism). I doubt I'll buy another shoei.
For years I rode with Shoei GTAir (original) and a modular Neotec (original). All I wished was improved out of OG versions was the sun visor to drop a little more and the main visor to stay locked open at just a crack. I then bought the GTAir 2 and kept the og Neotec.

I recently bought a Shoei GTAir2 and a Neotec 2. I really liked those helmets, for the fit, finish and features, however they are so different from each other and different from the previous versions for fit and features.

For example, the Neotec 2 main visor won't stay open at the lowest setting, so it always closes at speed. The chin vent is extremely flimsy and loose, but at least it stays open or closed. The internal sun visor is at the same level of closing as the original model, which is too high for me. I will say that this helmet is super comfortable and very quiet - it's the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn, so I wear it all the time.

The GT Air 2 helmet has an amazing main visor that clicks hard into place and will stay there at higher speeds. The sun visor closes down really far so it almost shades the entire opening, which I love. However there is a some difference in the shell fit, so the forehead part of the helmet pushes pretty hard against my forehead when moving at speed. It's not an issue with the padding, but rather the hard shell at the forehead. And it's not something that you would notice at the store either - it's only noticeable after riding for a while with it at speed. So I can use the helmet for short distances like commuting, but I don't like it for long distances.

All that to say I still love the helmets, but those variances are crap and turn an otherwise great product into a mediocre product. I'm glad they only cost me around $400 each, because I'd be ****** if I spent MSRP on them.
