Started going through my electrical panel to check where each switch/plug is wired. What a complete dog’s breakfast. There are supposedly two spare circuits on different sides of the bus, and none on the pony panel. Who needs nine split kitchen outlets? We’re thinking of getting a hybrid, but not sure if we can afford a plug in.

Nine split outlets on how many circuits? I have two split circuits and one 20A 120v circuit for counter plugs. I have never blown a kitchen breaker.

I was surprised at the immediate shutdown (they said they lost all power after the hit). I don't know if something important got ripped off or if that was a collision detection shutdown. I was impressed that they didn't get airbagged. That was a hard hit (maybe not enough horizontal acceleration to trigger?). I agree that very few cars would be drivable after jumping over a large piece of steel between the wheels.

It was interesting that the autopilot didn't seem to notice the giant chunk of steel. Probably related to cameras without lidar again.

I'm not particularly following the technology but wonder how the cameras would respond to a picture like this.

Poorly. Someone (maybe mark rober?) tested the opposite of that and put a wiley coyote road on styrofoam blocks. The tesla didn't notice the wall. Soon enough some scammer will paint the back of a truck and go hunting for tesla's to crash into them.

I lied, or typoed. It’s 12 separate 15 amp circuits, so only six split outlets. Three are on the back counter with the stove, one on each side counter, and one on the island. Eight circuits are on a 40 amp pony panel along with the pool stuff, the fridge and an unknown (so far) kitchen light. Some days I think @mimico_polak’s seller must have lived here at some point.
I’m going to make a spreadsheet of what connects to what, and then call a reputable electrician to see what can be done for car charging purposes.
We might have 150 amp service already.
