no CBA yet, so no trades, free agents signings yet - silly season delayed

hard to say what the Raps are going to look like this year
do they run it back and wait for next year and the Giannis sweepstakes?

looks strongly like Gasol is gone
Ibaka may be looking for a last big payday
VV is looking for, and has earned, a big payday

I'll put my crazy idea out there:

trade Lowry to Philly for Embiid
Kyle goes home - Philly needs a point
Embiid doesn't seem thrilled to be there
Embiid is an upgrade over both Ibaka and Gasol
sign VV and he is your starting point
can Powell cut it as a starting 2? I'd like to see him get a chance, VV is not a 2
Boucher can spot Embiid when he needs a rest
they probably need to sign another big to make that work
and probably another shooting guard FA


starting five:

VV, Siakam, Embiid, OG, Powell

Davis is done we figure?
 
Davis is the Osuna of the Raptors. 100% gone especially after the police report came to light.

Embiid isn't leaving Philly with the coaching change, they will want to make it work with Simmons.

That being said it would be Lowry + picks + players for sure, he's a franchise player.

I like moving Powell into starting rotation but where do you put him if we don't move Kyle?

I say Gasol leaves and we move Ibaka back to starting, he had an awesome season.

I'd love to move Lowry but I think we need keep him as trade bait for Giannis, Bucks could use a PG of calibre.

I haven't been following along and just read up on it now.
As good as he can be in the future, if all the details come out and he is guilty of the accusations, then yes, imo Toronto will cut him loose.
They have shown in the past where they stand in situations like this.

I think either VV or Lowry should go
VV is a baller for sure, but he's not a true 2 guard in the NBA

I think you get more for Lowry now than next year
is he a FA next summer? not sure
edit: looked it up, Lowry is playing out the last year of his extension
next summer he's a UFA, trade value is now

I'm okay with pics for Embiid along with Lowry and a body or 2
a couple of first rounders
Raps seem to do better with the late pics with no ego issues

but you may be right with Rivers coming to Philly
maybe Embiid will try to make it work

I'd love to see Ibaka stay
disappears defensively at times, but otherwise a great contributor
he seems to really like the team and city
but he may be looking for more $$ than the Raps are willing to pay

Philly did well to get rid of Horford's huge salary
and he didn't fit anyway

really sh1tty about Klay blowing out an achillies
terrible luck

so Raps draft a PG?

happy to hear the rumours of Harrell signing with the Raps was false
he's on his way to the Lakers

meh, would have been an OK replacement for Ibaka in terms of production. But he doesn't play new school ball for his position, so overall i somewhat agree.

Really happy to hear Steady Freddy is sticking around. I hope that having a young core with Pascal and OG will lead to good things.
As for drafting the guards, they are also good insurance if one of the primaries gets injured and they also get to learn from two of the games best.
It's going to be a pretty competitive Eastern Conference this year!
