I installed the creepy surveillance app/device to get an insurance discount

I know it's gross but getting a permanent 25% off tempted me. Most insurance companies have a program like this. I installed Ajusto under Desjardins. Here's a report: You have to have it installed for 100 days and drive at least 1000km. It detects when you're driving and after each trip it...

    Best heated gloves?

I've ridden highways in -15 weather with snowmobile gloves. They are dexterous enough for riding and were cheaper than motorcycle gloves. Mine were 25 bucks on clearance from Royal. They are definitely warm enough for walking around or pushing a snowblower.

    Need a shop recommendation

Ted's gruff manner used to be fun but now he's genuinely mean and doesn't care. He's even turning down cable changes and air filters and i had the parts. He's blowing everybody out and I can't believe that after seeing him for 20 years I'm never going back. He has changed.

New rider - Highways and freeways

Your bike is good enough but it's scary until you get used to it. Take your time and work your way up. My first highway experience was on the Gardiner with an M1 license, in the rain, in the dark, with a smoke visor, on 20 year old xs400 with 23hp when I missed the turn onto Lakeshore...

    Invisibility Training for Motorcyclist

I used to have a close call every two weeks using the eye-contact and bracing to dodge method. Saw this video around 10 years ago and haven't had one since. I've done it so late the car was already turning and he slammed the brakes. Their eyes snap right to you like magic. It should be in...

    Invisibility Training for Motorcyclist

This is a fascinating, well researched video. Definitely good stuff to be aware of no matter what you drive. However, he doesn't really offer a lot of solutions beyond hi vis and flailing your arms. The SMIDSY weave works amazingly well and covers nearly all of the problems.

    New Bike Owner

I don't think you have a center stand. If true, you need to buy a set of lift stands to so it can be level without you holding it. It needs to be level for most home maintenance. Make sure your control cables are lubed. (clutch, throttle, choke) I've never bought a used bike where this was...

Normal to be exhausted next day after long ride?

Everyone's neck and clutch hand ached after their first day on a bike. This is the same thing. You definitely won't be as tired next time. Also, earplugs help quite a bit.

OPP: Number of fatal motorcycle collisions in GTA 'very alarming'

It's true the OPP are foolish to withhold details but we are not fools. We all know what kills bikers the most. 1. Speed 2. Alcohol 3. Smidsy Our goal here isn't to argue with the police or excuse the dead. It is to silence the former and remember the latter. Let them both have nothing to...

How do you know when your tires are warmed up?

The problem is firmness. Any frozen tire may slide on an invisible amount of sand. As you go over a grain of sand, it should push into the rubber so the surrounding rubber keeps contact with the road. If the tire is hard, it doesn't push in as much. If there's enough sand, you can slip on it...

Getting a graduated G class license when you've only got M class.

This is exactly what I expected and makes perfect sense. However the price they wanted and the behavior of the serviceontario guy seemed to suggest to me that the G2 road test was unnecessary.

Getting a graduated G class license when you've only got M class.

They wouldn't bill me for it. The guy left me at the counter to go talk to somebody I couldn't see. Came back and said I only had to pay 10 bucks and that I've already been road-tested. I think this means I get a G2 right away, but I'd like to be sure.

Getting a graduated G class license when you've only got M class.

I'd like to be able to take a car on a highway and drive with a non-driver in the passenger seat. I'm asking if I'll be handed a MG2 right away, or if I'll have to go through the whole year with a G1.

Getting a graduated G class license when you've only got M class.

I've an M class Ontario Driver's license. Upgraded from M1 to M2. I've never had or needed anything else. I can drive standard and automatic transmission cars and have even rented and driven G class moving trucks with absolutely zero challenges or issues. However, my life is changing and it's...

    Chain rusting frequently?

I use Wurth Saebesto every 2-3 tanks of gas. I never clean my chain. I ride regardless of bad weather and park outdoors. I had some light surface rust on the exposed sections once after I parked it outside for a few weeks this winter. Sprayed it, drove to work and back, sprayed again. Except for...

    Gas fill up

If a person panics that easily he'd be terrified of bikes in the first place. Give him some credit. He said himself he just doesn't want to look silly at the pump. And he's brave and cautious enough to ask a dumb question. Then he said he got it right in the first place. The unanswered question...
