Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

We have an upright , it’s been much better than the chest , I would prefer no freezer because it’s two people, we don’t need that much food living five blocks from four grocery stores

I think the winner option is an upright with bins. You can either buy it that way or find bins that fit. That way when you open the door, you don't dump all the cold air out and it is easy to find/grab what you need as each bin is labelled. Also makes it easy to check if you are getting low on something (eg steak bin is almost empty, need more steak when on sale).

The one we ordered has bins. It was the cheapest frost free upright on the Costco site. Added bonus is the delivery includes haul away of the old freezer. It’s a Hisense one and we added a 5 year warranty for 100 bucks. Even if it's crappy Costco warranties are good.

I think we owned our stand up about 10 years at least before we finally got smart enough to actually label the bins.
We intentionally bought the smallest chest freezer. Most things go to the freezer to die but we needed more space than the stupid small drawer under the fridge for things like batches of spaghetti sauce. It's still a train wreck. Going to try a whiteboard to sign stuff in/out and see if that works any better.

That reminds me, we've been meaning to get a freezer but never got around to it. Will look around for a sale.

I've been considering upgrading my 2yr old Stihl MS250CBE chainsaw for no other reason than I saw a bigger one for sale NIB. Maybe hunting for a freezer will deter me from watching more chainsaw review vids.
