Daily sports car?

I had a Nissan 370z for about a year. Great car. Hold their value incredibly well, strong motor and transmission. Hasn't changed since 2009, Looking to buy another when I find the right optioned/priced one. Can easily drive for a year or two and only lose a couple of grand.

Those VQ motors were amazing
 
That new C8 is truly Sexay. But I'd wait a couple of model years for them to get the bugs sorted out of their first production mid-engine car.

you already mentioned the 370z and brz, I would be waiting a year to check out the new Nissan Z. It’s supposed to retain stick shift option as well.

370z still snaps my neck....wife thinks it's probably the stupidest car i could buy; zero practicality. Who cares!

I have absolutely no love for the modern Z's (nor any modern Nissan except the GTR). I haven't driven one so maybe there is magic behind the wheel. There are cars with less practicality. You could easily use a Z as a year round dd if you wanted.

From the cdn forum, there's been 1 transmission replaced on a '20, or '21 (i forget).
The early units didn't have proper amts of fluid. This gets taken care of during the 1st l.o.f.
No issues reported so far on any '22 that's been delivered.
Your Consumer Reports link is speculation.
Anything can be "potential".

With regard to the 2022 Chevy Corvette specifically, Consumer Reports identified the engine, transmission, drive system, paint, and trim as potential problem areas.

Consumer Reports is just plain terrible. I cannot understand how anyone can view them as a reputable source of information.

I like the concept but in practice, I agree with you. Even where they do testing, it is almost solely focused on performance out of the box. The vast majority of people value longevity over performance in the first week and CR does very little to address this. The rankings based on surveys are laughable. You self-select a group of people (those that pay for CR), then from within that group, people self-select whether to reply to the survey. It's hard to find a mechanism that is further detached from a random sample (at least CR probably has a reasonable geographic distribution but in most other metrics I suspect those replying fit in a narrow demographic).
 
I know people say not to believe everything you read on the internet, but when it comes to understanding known/potential problems, there's no better place to go than an internet forum full of like-minded enthusiasts who probably spend way too much time in/under their vehicle as well as on their keyboards.

I absolutely love the Z370...one of my 'attainable dream cars' ...

I think I've helped push out at least 2 or 3 in my lifetime from snow...drivers were still on summers during surprise snowstorms.

Buddy had one and loved it...his plate was something along the lines of 'WNTAV12'

Loved that car, those were the old glory Nissan days when they actually made good cars. Maxima, Sentra SE-R, even the "hardbody" Pathfinder back then was a standout vehicle

Their current line up and product is atrocious. The Skyline can only carry them so far.

Non-turbo based on the lack of boost gauge in the left dial. Those are just pics I grabbed off Google since I don't have any of my own (which was a 2+2).
