I did my own decades back. Actually it was a relocate but it was largely done in a day. We didn't have to worry about intruders bigger than a bug or two until the trim and caulk went in the next day. In the worst case, as long as you don't break the main glass they could be jury rigged to close the opening overnight.
Good point, I didn’t really think of that as obviously the goal is one and done but I guess the old door should go back in relatively easy as a temp overnight

I found a use for a five dollar bill. My railing welds needed some cosmetics and I wanted nice inside radius so i jammed in some body filler, put the fiver over it and shoved a radiused block of wood against the mass. When the filler sets the bill lifts off clean.

I do same, but 2 steps if the deck faces west or south. I find that works best for snow and it takes 1 step off the way down to grade.

Have the same set up for over a year - great system. As for the color, you can buy black silicone skins on Amazon. I think it's around $16 for 2. Or you can just plastidip them.

Trying to empty out the pool but the tiny pump dad has is struggling.

Can you use the pool pump to do some of the work? Do you have a vacuum hose to clean the pool? Hook it up and let your existing pump do most of the work (you probably don't have a backwash valve so maybe disconnect the return and send it where you want it?
To do a pool quickly, a gas pump with a 2.5" hose is good but too much cost and storage for once a year.
I have a quick drain that works well and uses no power. You can borrow it if you want (~30' of 1.25" hose). It would take a while to empty your pool (8 hours?) but that gives water time to soak in without flooding your neighbours. It's just a syphon so it won't pump it out to the front yard. You could just use a big hose to do the same thing. Quickdrain just includes a check valve to let you easily start it without hassle.
I have a 1/16th hp submersible and a 1/2 hp non-submersible but they move less water than the quick drain.

Cdn tire has two on sale. Hook up your garden hose and drain it to the curb. 6300 litres/hr or 5000 litres/hr…take your pick.

No water heater. Kids are still young so many we jumped the gun on the pool. Maybe next year they’ll be more into it.

I need to get a concrete pad put in for a new shed. Decided to do it properly and permanently. Needs to be for a 8x10 shed so I guess a foot larger each dimension? Anyone know about how much this costs? It’s in the back yard, access to the front driveway for delivery is about 30-40 feet away I’d guess. Is that an issue for concrete delivery?
Check with others, but I wouldn't oversize the slab much. Any water that hits the exposed rim will run into the shed (well maybe half the water but I want my shed dry).
