A friend didn't believe in going to doctors. Then one day he fainted and didn't have a choice. He ended up under the knife and was lucky. Other than not being able to play the waiting game for long, he's OK ten years later. It's my anniversary. Three years today, they removed 80% of my colon.
Don't put that **** off people.
OR, you can pay $37 and have it done by blood test....Ugh don’t remind me. Past 40 now so apparently I need to go for the ‘finger’ test soon....

I think you're correct. Canadian military wants their employees to get it done from 40. A friend of a friend went for the probing at 40 and it was too late. Stage 4 and gone. He was asymptomatic, no family history, probed earlier than most just got the short straw. Two kids in high school. Home school isolation plus loss of father is really hard for the younger one.IIRC the threshold for the examination was raised to 50...
Of course if you're into it I supposed if you asked nicely your Dr. would oblige.
I hear that now if you are doing the "test", the fee for getting the anesthesia is payable by you, courtesy of Douggie.Ugh don’t remind me. Past 40 now so apparently I need to go for the ‘finger’ test soon....
I don't think they ever followed through with that one.I hear that now if you are doing the "test", the fee for getting the anesthesia is payable by you, courtesy of Douggie.

A relative of a buddy has had two colonoscopys and for both he was put under.Did I miss a point? A basic digital prostate exam just requires a rubber glove and dab of lube. I had a colonoscopy a number of years ago and other than it being very uncomfortable I don't recall any anesthetics.
