Any members here that have sleds too?

I think I fell in love with a ski-doo too.

It does get pricey but so worth it.
I’m toying with selling the wife’s 17 Renegade 850 since used prices are going so well. She’ll get my 18 Rene 850 and I’ll likely Spring Check if I can decide which one.

my buddy ordered a lynx, i see a few 900t's on the trails.

Has anyone tried an Exosled? Seems to have some of the fun of a snowbike but should be trail legal as it bolts onto a sled. Kind of expensive unless it really ratchets up the fun (~$3000 USD)

EDIT:
It looks really fun. Not sure how it would feel going fast or in a chopped up trail.

Cool idea, :sneaky: a sled you can lean, I wonder if I could do that to a sno-scoot

Well.....that's pretty feckin' cool.

Does this post belong in this thread or EV's? Taiga is taking pre-orders for their electric sleds. Half of the pre-orders for the $20,000 sleds come from people that have never owned a snowmobile before. Maybe that's because they are 650 lbs with a max range of 140 km which likely means a realistic range of <50 km. Ugh. I'm glad they're trying and canadian, but that is going to be a crap experience for the buyers.

Snowbike only works in deep powder, not on trails. What is interesting is a quad (not ATV) converted into a sled.

The guy formerly known as Mladin.
I don't think I'd like that thing. Get it in any snow and you will be stuck. Not enough traction or float to run hydro cuts. No way the clubs will let it on the trails.

Well not quite. Take the Atlas for example as that's the 137" trail sled: 544lbs for base or 597lbs for "performance" higher range model. That's ready to ride. A comparable gas model 4-stroke lets say a G4 Skidoo Renegade 900T is around the same power ('22 is 180hp, older one is 150hp) and is easily 550lbs, then you're adding another 60+lbs for fuel. A 137" Yamaha or Arctic Cat turbo 4-stroke rated at 180hp (does more like 200hp though) doesn't list weight but is commonly known to be over 600lbs, plus again another 60lbs of fuel.
I often ride 250km+ days but many many riders don't break the 140km daily range Taiga states. They also state the range is in ideal conditions but also it's been tested to often be around that much even in bitter cold.
So really, it's a solid decent attempt in my opinion. Personally I smash the Ontario moguls most rides and won't be leaving a 2-stroke because of that but I'm not their market.

I think I'm about done for the season. Last ride was prob Saturday and passed on Sunday to go snowshoeing and fishing.

Was a fun season. Now to go spend some real money on this! The 500 will do my sister well up at her cottage, I need a different style (more dirt bike than cruiser) I've found. Great lesson for the cheap intro year.

What have you got in mind? or was looking at for your next sled.

I'm likely done for the season as well. Just listed my 18 Renegade for sale.

Plan was to give my wife my 18 but she liked her 14 better and the 850 is way more than she needs. That 600 was easier for her to manage and the new P-drive is more abrupt (I like it but she rides so slow it's worse for her). Plus the G4 has heavier steering that she doesn't much like. Thinking another XS chassis for her and I'm still undecided for me.

I see the lynx is all the rave for you doo guys,

A crap load of dollars to own one

It's a fad. Years ago all sleds were uncoupled. The Rave for example will be good for the tiny amount of people smashing big bumps in a straight line. Most people buying them this year would do better on a different sled and will complain about them because it doesn't corner flat, or it's tippy, etc (same as the majority who buy a XRS).

As instate i am done, then had a 21 renegade (850) dropped off to test ride on Monday eve.

I prob don't need an 850 but oh my gosh. Skiis on the ground - bah! So much fun and a lot better position for me to control/push.
