If he can afford more than 2 weeks on St. Barts, he's not hurting for $$.

You'd be hard pressed to find any rooms for under $2K USD a night there.
Philips travels on a chartered private jet usually, he is stinky rich and sadly the most qualified guy in the last 20yrs as finance minister. Just a really dumb guy sometimes.

I did grocery shopping in Mississauga yesterday and the store was OK when I entered but it seemed to fill up fast. When I left there were large line ups inside and out. I am not comfortable with what I was exposed to although everyone was wearing masks. Distancing and following arrows wasn't a big thing.

A $50K loss for resignation but still has a $100K+ job so he is not unemployed, nor really any hardship with resignation.
A minister gets extra perks IIRC and can influence peddle when he leaves the job.
Getting a seat on a board of directors can be very profitable. Some interesting stock options available.

Firing an elected official is a slippery slope. I think removing him from his appointed role is reasonable. I think it would also be reasonable if they vote to sanction him in some manner (a month working for free or use some of the govt ad budget to put his face on buses with "dont be like rod"?)

Maybe. But he wont be doing anything substantial about it unless called out. Since oosterhoff douggie has cemented that friends are above public health measures.
As for public vs private sector. In private sector you are hired by one person and can be fired by one person. Politicians are hired by tens of thousands of people, they cant be fired by one. I doubt they can even be fired by a vote of all mpps. Check out the mess with the huge slimeball on ottawa council that they have no legal avenue to turf even though he does almost no work and abuses women in the job when he does show up.

Excactly, they would be gonners. Douggie should make it, or had made it very clear on the onset that out of country vacay is outta the question. Chit my old work place use to black list days because we needed all hands on deck at certain times of the year. This goes above an beyond that need, and this is our leadership. No wonder people believe this is a hoax with morons at the helm.
I just see these clowns hanging in the back room smoking cigars, laughing and "well that didn't go over too well" Gheesh, ok lets try something else next time...btw how was the vacay....
