paying for gas

Don't think it is worth the fight. Sure you are right it is not the law, is it really something you want to get in an argument over though?
The person is essentially trying to bully someone else, that **** doesn't fly with me.

That being said, wouldn't be much of an argument. I'd point out it is in fact not the law and i could either pay for my gas or leave without paying. The decision is up to them.

Yes but now you’ve become a criminal because you chose not to take off your helmet and walk away without paying over a perceived slight....
‘Yes officer I refused to pay because the guy was an ass’ ... not sure how that would fly with the cops.

Mimico, i swear your selective reading is as bad as mine! :p No where did i say anything about refusing to pay.

If i offered to pay and the guy said "not until i take off my helmet", then i'm leaving. It's not stealing when he wouldn't take my money.

EDIT: upon re-reading i see how someone may have read it that way, but it was not the intention.

LoL this is fun. I read it as....
You: Here’s my money
Owner: Not until you take off helmet
You: alright f-u (walks out door with money)

In my eyes it’s still stealing. He didn’t say it’s free he just asked you to take off your helmet.

Anyway I’m off to pick up the new van. You guys and gals go ride. I’m planning a Saturday rip somewhere as I haven’t touched the bike all week.

That is EXACTLY how i did mean it. :p

Wish i could, stuck in the office slaving away.

I only take off my helmet at the border, and am not asked every time. At CIBC I asked the teller to break a $50 into 20s and a10 and she told me to take off my helmet, and I told her I wouldn't and am not asking for anything more. In less than 30 seconds I was out of there. In other words the cameras want to see who is robbing them but since it was not a stick-up, I won't comply. Ha!

Business space is not a public space. The owner or manager has the right to ask anything he/she wants within the legal limit.

When I visit other people's house, I respect the owner's rules and follow. I don't act like a jackass and be rude. This applies to when I go to a store.

They can ask and you have the right to refuse.

they can also then tell you to get the fuke out and take your completely irrelevant business elsewhere

absolutely they can and so what?

what are the odds after you pumped $20-$50 bucks of high test into your bike and go in to pay they'll tell you to get the fuke out with your irellavent business? yeah thats the percentage , zero.

Story time ...

Recently, Friend and I went to a gas station where I paid outside and he paid inside. When he went to pay inside the cashier tried to keep him inside because she thought I was road raging and waiting for him outside -_-". The talented cashier kept him in there for a good ~20 minutes so I decided to walk in thinking his card didn't work (full gear with modular helmet open?) and that's when she told him what she suspected.

Yes. So you have to put the gas back in the pump.

I don't know about you, taking my helmet off is a much better option than draining my tank at a gas station.
Oh boy.

This is the reason that we have to have some incredibly silly laws on the books.

If we had a higher percentage of motorcyclists on the road, we'd probably have to have another.

Pull up to the pumps and fill up. Go inside to pay and the guy says “take your helmet off” “Why”, I say? “Its the law” he says. “Screw you”I say. “you want my money or not? So is it a law ? I consider my helmet my Burka in this case...
This was an open face HJC.

Problem with that is they will say "yes it is the law" and now you are in a debate when both of you are not lawyers. You have to convince someone that you are correct in a confrontational situation. Most people get their back up and will refuse to accept they are wrong. Now he says you have to take your helmet off and pay, you say no way but want to pay, he says take it off, cops get called when you try to walk away thinking you are in the right. All this for an ideal that is not all that important. Again you are right, but is the argument and confrontation really worth it? End result if things go your way is a gas attendant now knows it is not against the law to wear a helmet inside the store.

Passing counterfeit cash is a thing these days. I can see why helmets should be removed just for that and cctv purposes.
