The daily commute

Yes, if you were in the left lane left blocking position you would lose points. The exam is given in a 'perfect world' scenario, where everyone drives the limit, leaves proper spacing, doesn't blow through reds, checks their blind spots, etc.

Real world: i agree with your choice of blocking position depending on the situation like the above rider.

I'm reviewing for the m2 exit test, I have to do it later this summer. "correct" track from I can tell is the closest to dotted line. Thats what they taught in the M1 exit courses as well. I agree with you on minimizing the biggest risk instead. I will switch from the inside track to the yellow line while going through intersections - you're much more visible to a left turner (which is statistically the most likely car collision).
Just took mine the other week, if you need a hand drop me a line.

I think i would start worrying about the fact that your life has been saved 4 times in the past 4 years. What's up with that? What are you doing wrong?

I'm stopped, in proper lane position, fully stopped, tail light on.
3x people too busy texting to see me, 1x soccer mom fighting with her kids not paying attention.
So, the only thing I can think that I'm doing wrong is living in a city with an abundance of distracted drivers.

agree with this completely
at intersections the biggest threats are in front of you
so visibility becomes more important than lane blocking

There's perfect world scenarios and real world scenarios. Do whichever protects you the most.

...and we'll make fun of you for being in the wrong blocking position anyways. lol

...and the ripped jeans thing is a stupid fashion statement. If mine are ripped, it's cause I worked in 'em till they wore out.

Those lug nuts are cool. Where can I get some for my truck?

I always wondered if those would impale me if it came off a truck at highway speeds.

I would hope that they are just chrome plastic caps. If they are actual steel pointed nuts, god help us all.

Same. Easier to roll away especially on an incline, can roll on the throttle more smoothly if not holding the front brake. At least for me.
Exactamundo.

A few minutes behind a school bus waiting to turn left. I can just imagine the bus driver trying to get the kids to sit down...

That's a bit of a surprise. Two of them almost killed me on the 410 last night. They were fighting to be the first to pull out from behind a truck, right into my lane. But nerves of steel...

And people think more higher speed limits is going to be good, with idiots like that around.

higher limits on the highways is long overdue and won't really change anything. Real problem is most people are doing 20+ over on city streets and driving extremely aggressively on top of it. Lack of enforcement is the real problem. I've watched people pull moves that should have your license revoked right in front of TPS and they could care less.
