Heated grips or heated gloves?

I didn't drive the car for one week, and that paid for the heated grips and at least one lunch...
It cost me more per KM to use my bike than my V8 pickup truck when everything is factored in. Bike gets slightly better mileage but costs more in maintenance etc.

Couple of winters ago I had no problem riding all winter long with the Heaterz heated grips.

Are there any good waterproof heated gloves?

My WarmnSafe carbon gloves are supposed to be waterproof but they are not, so the best that has worked for me so far is to use my heated gloves and coat them in Nikwax. It really helps and I have to do it about 1-2x a year to keep them really water resistant. They still leak in heavy or long lasting rainfalls. They keep my hands very dry in mild rain and have a little bit or protection.

Third option - Muffs
- work mint
- no wiring

But you need to be able to work the switch gear blind

Heated gloves, jacket, socks and dual remote Troller = bliss. Once you've got them you wonder how you did without and suffered.

We all know where the levers are but sometimes I've hit the horn instead of the hi/lo or was it vice verse....

I'm doing "okay" with just gloves and heated grips but at zero or so thumb and finger tips can get cold.
I've found leaving some air space in the gloves is better than an inner glove.

My forehead gets cold below 5 deg, with or without balaclava. Do you have any solutions for that?

Get a helmet with bad ventilation but with good visor seal.
Chin curtain help a lot.
Thicker micro-fleece balaclava.
Tape up vents.

I've had both. In cold weather heated gloves are warmer and more comfortable. Heated gloves are better over all. The only real downsides is price, they cost twice as much with a heat controller and you have to plug them in when you get on the bike. Oxford heated grips cost about $80 and once installed are their when you need them. One issue that will make heated grips more attractive though is with heated grips you also still have to buy good insulated gloves to ride in cold weather. Heated gloves heat the back of the hand and fingers which are the parts that get cold, they are also insulated.
