Working out! Fitness! Nutrition!

I used to feel the same way, I've recently started training Muay Thai and I'm wishing I'd started it much earlier, I'm having trouble getting my head around the whole "KICK" thing.

I had the opposite experience. I came from Taekwondo and took up kickboxing for a few years. I had the kick part down pat but wished I started boxing much earlier to get the footwork and technique down.

def me, stopped for a couple years but been in the gym the last month trying to build back up

Awesome man! Yea I been at it for 8 years now, I been steady at it 6 days a week sometimes even 7. I know too much lifting is bad for you, but truthfully because I see the results, I just keep going. Now it is an addiction. This will only be my 2nd season riding but I must say, when I got the itch/bug for riding I was in a different world when I combined a ride after hitting the gym! So from only having the gym as a passion, I can honestly say the gym and riding are both of my hand in hand passions!

I work out about 3 times a week and play dodgeball and snowboard in the winter. In the summer still work out 3 times a week but I dragon boat, hike and bike ride. I prefer the competitive sports to going to the gym.

Nice .. Yea used to play soccer and basketball .. Soccer I played for 5 years on a league and bball was for my first two years of high school... I am only 5'7 but was a good 3 point shooter. Regardless I wish I played more sports now but I have to say, I only weight lift for now.

Hiked 16 km on the Bruce Trail today, bringing my total GPS-logged hiking/snowshoe distance for February to 75 km so far. Logged another 20 or so km cross-country skiing so far this month. I prefer outdoor activities over the gym.

Damn... That is much healthier then weight lifting.. Good for you man

I got to the gym and also take the bootcamp courses offered. I'm also on the figure skating team, and I play rugby. Last summer I did a physical labor job and then went to the gym right after, 5 days a week. I also snowboard in the winter. I just love being out side, once the ice melts, roller blades go on :p

Very impressive... I'm not going to lie.. I have never snow boarded in my life lol

lift weight 3 days a week and try to run my local ravine in the summer. Also mountain bike.

I love the outdoor stuff but nothing beats the satisfaction of knowing your body is gonna GROW.

I second that !

Enjoy working out, but love competitive sports. I would rather be up and out doing something active.

Doing a military ironman this year. 50lb rucksack for 36km, grab a canoe and portage with that and the sack for 4 km, row 8, drop the canoe and finish another 6km on foot... For some reason in my mind it sounds like fun!

It is fun.. Mind you, will be sore as ***** the next few days... But wow.. Intense

Gym 6 times a week, lift in the evenings and 45-60 minutes of low intensity cardio as soon as I wake up...starting to really enjoy it oddly enough.

If you had to pick 1 or the other... Would u say ride or train ?

Crossfit. That is all.
:)

Which cross fit do you go to? I know quite a few people who always talk about it.. They go to square one cross fit on fewster dr Mississauga

Nice .. Yea used to play soccer and basketball .. Soccer I played for 5 years on a league and bball was for my first two years of high school... I am only 5'7 but was a good 3 point shooter. Regardless I wish I played more sports now but I have to say, I only weight lift for now.

Awe man I miss high school so much, I totally sucked at b-ball. I did field hockey for 4 years(did a trip with the team to Burmuda and played the national team), ice hockey 2 years, rugby 2 years, soccer 3 years, track and field (discus/shot put and javlin, came 2nd in offsa one year) 5 years, basket ball 1 year. Oh yea and I was boxing my last two years of high school too(6 days a week 2.5 hr work outs). In college I only did varsity soccer. Wish I continued with discus. One of my dreams was to make it to the olympics:)

I am a huge gym fanatic, when I have a reason to be. I was a very competitive Jr. and then minor professional hockey player. When I was prepping for a season or training camp I'd be in the gym or on the ice 6 days a week for roughly three hours a day. It was incredible and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Now that I have no real goal, that level of commitment is a hard hurdle to jump. I've slacked off for quite a while now, but in the summers there is a lot of work to do around the farm if I so choose. Winter is still eaten up with hockey, but not at nearly the same level. I guess I'm kinda fat and lazy these days...

It's only gay if you make eye contact.

So if you are doing a guy from behind and shoving his face into the pillow so you don't make eye contact doesn't make you gay?

Wow...I learn something new everyday.

Oh and my contribution to this thread. I just wear a tight affliction t shirt while my gut hangs out. Does that count as working out and nutrition? That is how I pick up the ladies, yaaaaaaaa.....sexy beast over here ladies.

I masturbate a lot, great for cardio and tone. I need to switch it up though I'm starting to look lopsided.

Thx Reciprocity for your post(s) I won't need porn for the next couple of weeks.

On a serious note - I'm at the gym three times a week. Not much cardio recently though.

I seriously hate the gym, the only good feeling is when your done and can get the **** out of there..

I only go 5 times a week because its a self improvement addiction and so I can wheel hot chicks.

I workout 3-4 days a week. I've got a pretty good setup in my basement and have a regualr partner. It helps to have friendly competition to see who can get the extra few reps off. We do a circut style workout, keep the pace quite high for more of a strength and endurance workout. I've been to a couple co-ed bootcamps just for the challenge and I've also just started BJJ.
