Was out yesterday. Might have bagged off but some guy buzzed back and forth past the house on a ICE scooter so I had no choice. Promised myself no gravel - too muddy, but then broke down and ran the river road to check out how high the water was running.
First ride in the book, hard to resist today.
Bike started up just fine, no tender, fuel stabilizer, just go.
Short ride over to Greenwood. Tomorrow might be longer if weather holds up.
The key to avoiding salt, don't clean your bike, that layer of dirt will protect it..
140km in and around Port Perry today. Some run off here and there, the odd bit of sand, but the roads are, otherwise, in good shape. 8° C. the whole way, very comfortable.
Meanwhile, the gravel looked nasty; I chose to avoid.
Took the big KTM for a quick ride to make sure no surprises and no undetected mice crawled in. Was nice to be out on two. Original fob battery was getting low so popped in a new one and updated the Garmin XT and good to go. Have a few thousand km to go before I need to decide on what to replace the front tire with
Rode yesterday and today. Thought I would've learned from having to wash the muck from bike yesterday to not ride today...but sunshine and warm air beckoned, and I'm washing the bike again today.
Did a ride over to Sharon, then Jackson's point. (my usual places)
All the ice huts have been removed, no one out on the ice.
Saw a few Harley riders out!
