Where to practice wheelies?

Plus the change in laws to make it illegal to stunt even on private property if it's open to the public.
Even if it's not open the public. Farm fields are explicitly called out as a prohibited area. Runway might be safe from 172 if it was gated. It appears to meet the stupid definition of a parking lot though so it's probably eligible for charges.

"“specified place” means any parking lot, beach, park, bike path or trail, farm field or sports field."

"“parking lot” includes,

(a) any parking lot, garage or structure, whether public or private, paved or unpaved, flat or multilevel, above or below grade, including any driveway or road that connects the parking lot to a highway,

(b) any private, commercial or industrial parking lot or empty lot from which the public would ordinarily be excluded, and

(c) any parking lot into which drivers are expressly or impliedly invited or permitted to enter, with or without payment, and no matter whether payment is made or whether the driver entered with or without permission; (“parc de stationnement”)"

Here's the exemption you need to comply with. It would be hard to put it mildly. The runway was not built specifically for this purpose (does conversion count?). Would Toronto roads sign off on the track? Do you need to build a moat around the runway and float the vehicles across to avoid the connection via driveway or road?

" This section does not apply to,

(a) a race track, motor speedway or go-cart track that is built specifically for that purpose in a specified place; or

(b) an event similar to those described in section 4 that is held in a specified place with the written approval of the road authorities having jurisdiction over any highways from which there is road access to the specified place. O. Reg. 598/21, s. 1."

And we wonder why insurance rates are so high.

For some anyway as mine dropped by $491 for the same coverage. :ROFLMAO:

Insurance rates are high because kids want to wheelie? Really?

Yeah really. That and weaving back and forth through the lanes on the highway at double the speed. Want me to go on.

High risk = high insurance rates. Don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

There are a lot of reasons why insurance is high. It's not just bikes.
The op asked a reasonable question.

I'm not sure why people use that saying. We know it's because of accident benefits fraud. $614 of the $766 I pay for my 990 is accident benefits. Liability is only $73 and comprehensive only $43.

Because even if you ride using your head, and I mean the head above your shoulders and not the head between your legs, is more risky than being in a car.

And being a bonehead on two wheels does not help matters. Personally, I have been accident-free for just over 50 years; same in cars. My insurance premiums paying for the rest of the losers out there.

What, you mean the left turning car at the next light that you run into. Drivers on two or four wheels are not the sharpest tools in the shed. They cannot judge a motorcycle moving illegally at higher speed. By the way, when I was doing 120 to 140 on the Autobahn with vehicles doing 200+ in the passing lane, you have to check twice a few seconds apart to see how fast they are moving before changing lanes.

Having been a flight instructor for years, as I mentioned before, few have it and many don't when people get ANY licence...to drive or to fly.

Wheelies are fun. We are expecting 70 riders tomorrow at our trial in Mono. Come on out.

A flight instructor? So what?

Trials is another matter. Kind of hard not to complete a course without them.

Trust me, you probably would not pass. :ROFLMAO:

At the 50 second mark...now this is real skill!

I ride gsxrs and do wheelies and my insurance is less than yours went down.

I highly doubt that. Insurance rates in the GTA are never the lowest in Ontario.

He left gta for greener pastures and friendlier neighbours.

That explains it. For what I ride that costs more and is likely newer, $788 is cheap, but still too much.

BTW smart. The call I once got for a position in the GTA lasted 20 seconds. I said "not interested and no thank you".

You lost me.

Because of the comment you made. As an instructor I had to shake my head many times as to who was taking flying lessons. Forget about that, many should not even have a driver's licence.

Shouldn't judge people you don't know. I'm not a pilot, but i know more about flying than most people.

Based on experience when you do it 5 to 7 hours a day. Oh and by the way, those with higher education were the worst such as a PhD or someone with a degree. And to think, to fly an F18 in the CF, you need a degree that I find laughable.

The thread is about wheelies. You're trolling now.
