What's for dinner?

football snack
back bacon on a fresh kaiser roll

put a half avocado and lots of cracked pepper on it
health food!

Breakfast of champions. I've been having that for my breakfast on and off all Xmas. Got some nice bacon ”rounds” with the right amount of fat to meat from Loblaws microwave for 3 mins and they are perfect.

More food pictures. Here are some other food plates and sampling dishes I've enjoyed lately. Large pictures.

Snack plate with four cheeses (Oka Classique, Beemster Classic aged Gouda, an award-winning Bothwell habanero and cracked black pepper Monterey Jack, plus a holiday Boursin cranberry and pepper Gournay), PC Chia and Quinoa baked pita crackers, Raincoast cranberry & almond crackers and an olive & florina pepper tapenade.

Fresh toasted buttered thick garlic bread. Rich, heavy, flavorful... and with nice minced fresh garlic & herb seasoning.

Two gargantuan shrimp (each near 1/4 lb) pan fried and served shrimp cocktail style with horseradish seafood sauce.

I reheated some of that amazing frozen garden roasted cherry tomato soup and served it with fresh hand grated grana padano.

Guacamole made with some added fresh squeezed lime juice, some minced fresh garlic and salt. Served in a traditional lava molcajete.

Charcuterie. This one includes basic and premium prosciutto, hot genoa salami and imported Italian Piaceri D'Italia Spianata Piccante. The premium prosciutto, imported Italian Picaron Prosciutto di San Daniele, is 10X better than the cheaper Canadian-made prosciutto. Excellent prosciutto like this has floral flavour notes.

More charcuterie. This premium plate includes imported Italian Piaceri D'Italia Spianata Piccante, imported Italian Picaron Prosciutto di San Daniele and imported Italian Salame Piacentino DOP.

I took more care here to unwrap the Italian Picaron Prosciutto di San Daniele and show it off better.

Have a great weekend. Eat well.

I regularly buy some fantastic prosciutto di Parma from my local Italian grocery deli.

Pricey, but so worth it.

You will NEVER buy the pre-packaged ones ever again once you've had the real stuff.

My sister had her wedding in Tuscany. The caterer organized a traditional sampling of food including hand carved prosciutto carved while you wait. Spoiled packaged versions for me ever since.

It was a real pleasure to get that San Daniel prosciutto; I saw it on sale at great price for $4.67/100 grams and jumped on it. The package was unopened to that point as well. I picked up 0.6 lbs, having them shave it thin from whole piece.

It's a great world of food out there. Happy food hunting.

I love that bone marrow @mbroyda! I NEED to make that.

Here's another no compromise Weber Summit grill meal. a rack of BBQ and a rack of Greek pork back ribs ?. Cheers to year round BBQ and grilling. I smoked the meat this time, done on the Weber Summit grill with hickory, cherry and apple woods and followed by low & slow grilling for four hours. Large pictures and lots of details (with big eye appeal).

You can see how the ribs are much darker this time because of the smoking. I love the sheen of the caramelized fresh BBQ sauce glaze.

I'm away for a few weeks. Cheers and enjoy good food. I envision some grilled octopus & squid, fresh ceviche and fresh fish in my near future :).

I recently got back home from a winter vacation down south. It and the food was great. Lots of meals to share and foodie alert (for me).

Starting here, check out my plate of Mediterranean-style grilled octopus.

I had to share another angle.

They are not messing around. I love this type of fresh seafood. Butter soft and perfectly done.

I enjoyed this dish regularly.

Taco station time. That vertical stack cooker is doing tacos pastor :) (sliced pork). Chicken, beef and fried fish is also available.

The taco station toppings include habanero hot sauce and mild hot sauce, jalapenos, cabbage/lettuce, radishes, cucumbers, guacamole-based sauce, mayo, cheese, onions and a chipotle cream sauce.

Molcajete Mexicano, served with chicken, flank steak, chorizo sausage, cactus leaves, panela cheese, spring onion and charro beans, accompanied with corn tortillas. This pig-shaped molcajete is fresh from the oven hot! This was a half portion, haha. I really wanna try to do this at home with my lava molcajete ?!

Very nice presentation yet again here... corn tortilla stuffed with chicken, topped with poblano chili sauce, served with sour cream.

More lunch dishes.
I love the nachos, pico de gallo and guacamole in MX! Their nacho chips are perfection. Sorry, tied into the first one before taking a picture ;).
Yea I have never found a place in TO which has chips like in Mexico, or even close to the food, or basic salsa's on the table. Usually they have 2, (red and green) sometimes 3. So good. Yes the avocados are much nicer as well for whatever reason, maybe because they are fresher.
Looks like you ate well!

They are old, fried, cut up corn tortillas, not out of a bag like many places use. There's a few places I’ve been to locally that do it right. Also years ago in Kensington market there was a family Mexican place that also did it right with really good traditional Mexican food and an amazing tres leches cake, there was also a Peruvian place called Jumbo Empanadas there that had great homemade salsa. If you’re ever in Ottawa there’s a Mexican place on Dalhousie that’s also authentic and petty cheap with a variety of homemade salsas and sauces.

Yup, it was awesome

... and I celebrate those little food victories. This is the best I eat meal-to-meal over an extended time all year; very indulgent.

Here are a number of typical breakfasts. Breakfasts for me were light with tasty choices and lots of fresh fruit ?.

Breakfast plate. Mixed fruit with granola and coconut. Super fresh.

I know, when they bring out chips from a bag of tostitos I know I choose the wrong place....:(

I was suppose to do a ride out that way to visit a buddy, didn't make it, will have to give it another go this season. Thanks for the tip, will have to check it out. Unless we end up at the Elgin Street Diner, which is one of our places to hang out. Hard to resist a good all day breakfast place.

More breakfast meals and lots to enjoy.

Fresh fruits (anyone know what the seedy yellow ones are) plus bacon, a condensed milk and cinnamon sugar crepe with pastry.
