What did you do in your garage today..?

I should clarify, not easy if you're a 17yr old without much experience in this regard and there's no YT vids to show how as it's the early 90's.

Ariens Platinum. Only a few hundred dollars more than a Deluxe and it's lovingly overbuilt and worth it. Huge engine, faster impeller, heated grips, etc. It's a well-made machine and will eat anything you put in front of it and still look brand new years later. Mine's 3yrs old and I'm in a big-snow area and love mine. Never let me down, starts easily, goes through absolutely EVERYTHING and throws it a solid 60ft at least.

Speaking of throwing snow....years ago when I first got the small 520, I was doing the end of the drive after the plow was by. I wasn`t familiar with the machine at all and managed to fire a fist size ball of ice at the neighbors house, just missing taking out their large front window by inches. :p

When I got the big 724 I thought maybe I shoulda` got the e-start model. Once I figured it out they start pretty easy though. Just like the old XL250, XL350 and XL500 did. I pull the 724 thru a few times until compression, gas on, choke on, switch on, and one firm pull normally does it.

Yep, it's more of a failsafe than anything. Like if I somehow manage to rip or damage the pull cord, it's there.

Has that ever happened in the history of man? Maybe, maybe not.

If I didn't have the electric start option would it totally happen to me? Knowing my luck lately, 100% yes lol.

Since a push start is out, you`re covered. It`s like did a Yamaha 2 stroke autolube pump ever fail? I heard of one... ever.

Built it years ago for a $100 Ice bike challenge. (Spoiler I spent $80 on new purpose made studs and blew the limit)
Motor was stuck and I rebuilt it. The velocity stacks are made from plastic urine sample jars with the bottom cut out and screen hot-glued in the lid. To make sure they don't clog with snow (when I dump it) I made shields from empty oil jugs - they have big louvers on the inside. The rear pegs are being used with a GP shift pattern and home made rear brake pedal.
Szoke posted a fun video. Looking forward to vids of you elbow dragging on the 350.

Just tipped it up on its front to replace a broken spring and noticed that the auger box welds are going where it attaches to the middle section 2nd stage. Nah, it's done.

This would be a good solid unit I think.
You can also get a blade or a broom for it.
